Angie Asimus is back on the Sunday 5pm News today after Sally Bowrey has presented for the last month or so.
7 News Gold Coast weather presenter Liz Cantor has announced that she is 18 weeks pregnant with her first child.
Weekend sunrise reporter Sophie Hull was seen doing a report For TT tonight
Looks like Brisbane presenter Bill McDonald has been sent to Rio and is filing a sports report tonight.
That is right:
7 using Ann Sanders to do their voice overs now daysâŚ
Wow, didnât even realise Christie Cooper had left Ch 7. Sheâs a good journo.
There are always special features in Fridayâs Sydney bulletin - it makes me think theyâre gearing up to move Mel Doyle to Sunday - Thursday. Pure rumour but either way 7 news Sydney is looking a lot better!
Do you really think that Melissa Doyle would present Sunday Night and Sydneyâs Sunday 6pm bulletin on a regular basis?
Who knows! Maybe - Mel was also presenting on a Monday when they changed their graphics. Just feels like they test changes with her as presenter before Ferguson.
Move Mel to Sun-Thu then give SN to Nat I reckon. That way you go a long way towards fixing the Sydney problem, start working on Natâs role after Sunrise and give Eddy something to do filling in for Nat a couple of mornings a week.
She doesnât rate any better than Ferguson unfortunately.
Sad but true. I think Melissa Doyle is a far better newsreader than Mark Ferguson (along with handling serious/Breaking News situations quite well, Mel has a great personality and can actually banter properly unlike Mark!), but sadly she didnât do too well ratings wise when filling in for Fergo last month. Granted that Nine had the major advantage of it being a State Of Origin week when Mel was filling in on Seven, but stillâŚ
I also get the general impression that if Mel was to be appointed to Seven News Sydney on Sunday-Thursday, she would probably eventually push for major improvements to the format and content quality of Seven Sydneyâs 6pm news. I somehow doubt that the current management of Seven News (if the current management want the current and largely tabloid, often Western Sydney-centric bulletin format kept as it is, I wouldnât be terribly shocked) would want that, even if ratings were to improve.
We can only hopeâŚ
Regular 7 News Gold Coast weekend anchor Amanda Abate is in Sydney doing Olympic updates so Katrina Blowers is anchoring the bulletin for the next few weekends.
He actually started at Seven as a cadet/junior reporter before going to Nine and Ten and then back to Seven
Jodi Speers is presenting the special Afternoon News bulletin for the Gold Coast (5pm), Adelaide (4.30pm) and Perth (3.30pm).
Perths Sports Presenter Adrian Barich was speaking to Eagles coach Adam Simpson live
He ask Adam a? About Former Eagles player and Fremantle ass coach Peter Sumich if he would be joining the club,Adam replied "we have 3 games to worry about nothing else,Barich Then proceeded to ask two more questions about sumich Joining the Eagles.Barich Really is he that thick!!!
Bill McDonald presented the 6pm Brisbane bulletin live from Rio de Janeiro today (as shown in this video). That means he will have to be up in the middle of the night each weekday to do the news for at least this week, given he also does some commentary for Sevenâs Olympics coverage (e.g. table tennis).
Itâs 5am in Rio at 6pm here, not exactly the middle of the night.
