The report also mentions that Dean Felton is gone as well. Big losses.
Everyone gets to a point in their lives no matter what industry you work in when it’s time to slow down and it seems Brendan feels the time is now for him.
I agree it’s definitely a big loss for Melbourne newsroom but it had to happen eventually.
At least they got the experience of Laurel Irving back from London, though.
Very true Laurel is an asset to the Melbourne newsroom and since her return she has covered all the major stories of the day.
The Melbourne newsroom also has a group of younger reporters who are impressive.
Matilda Boseley (formerly of The Age) is a rising star in the Melbourne newsroom.
That staff retention problem strikes again.
It’s reported on page 2 of The Age today.
Friday 28 February-
Samantha Brett presented weather on Morning News today.
There definitely seems to be one in Sydney too, where they’ve lost something like 30 on-air presenters/reporters (and how many more behind the scenes?) over the last 5-6 years!
From what I can gather, Chris Reason, Chris Maher and Helen Wellings are pretty much a few of the remaining survivors from the Ross Symonds/Ann Sanders era. I know there may be more…
Friday 28 February-
Tim Watson is presenting sport in Melbourne from Marvel Stadium for tonight’s AFL State of Origin (Victoria vs All Stars) bushfire fundraiser match.
waiting for this to see, always loved Tim as a presentator. there’s a lot i’ve learned from him.
Presenter?
Mylee Hogan presented updates last night, no doubt last minute with Sun Yang news breaking.
Saturday (29.02.2020): Laura Dymock is presenting Brisbane’s weather tonight.
As reported a couple weeks ago by @blackbox - Tim McMillan has joined Angela Tsun for Seven News Perth with his first night being tonight. Tims facial expressions probably sum up his reaction to presenting in front of a green screen lol.
What in the world? That looks so awkward.
