Rob Ovadia is actually presenting in Sydney tonight.
Saturday 1 February & Sunday 2 February-
Sean Sowerby is presenting sport in Melbourne.
Doing a good job too!
7 News Sydney do have a good bunch of relief readers in Michael Usher, Angela Cox, Chris Reason and Robert Ovadia.
Robert Ovadia comfortably beat Georgie Gardner in Sydney last night.
Is this going to be a trend? Michael Usher isnât even back yet and the fill ins are beating Georgie.
Today show stench?
Iâd say those figures also arenât quite right in the sense that Nine News only ran for half hour (and the weekend results arenât split into half hour segments)
Does the general public actually tune in for the presenter? Or is there a preference to the overall news offering by a certain network? Weekends especially you are never assured of who will be presenting. Itâs a bit of luck overall?
Monday 3 February-
Angie Asimus is presenting Early News.
Peter Mitchell certainly looks relaxed after a long holiday! #greybeard
EDIT-
Peter is clean shaven for tonightâs bulletin.
Amanda Abate presented the Queensland afternoon news from the Gold Coast.
Adrian Cutts (@lybaskw) on Twitter is speculating that a new set could be on the way for Seven News Brisbane.
Amanda and Katrina Blowers will likely job share the 4pm News in Brisbane for the next few months, while Kendall is on maternity leave.
I HIGHLY doubt a new set any time soon.
every station has permanent weekend anchors⌠who like all of us take breaks occasionally.
Good to see him finally back
Doubtful of a new set, although there are whispers 7 will move regional news production to Mt Coot-tha and sell off their prime piece of land in the heart of Maroochydore. So maybe the ânewâ set is getting ready for that.
Iâm amazed the move hasnât happened already. BTQ has 2 unsused studios gathering dust so it would be a no brainer to move the regional set and production to Mt Coot-tha. This would be a massive saving for the network selling off Maroochydore and move the Sun Coast news team to a smaller facility.
Tuesday 4 February & Wednesday 5 February-
Natalie Barr presented Early News.
Monday 3 February & Tuesday 4 February-
Jacqueline Felgate presented Afternoon News in Melbourne.
Wednesday 5 February-
Mike Amor is presenting Afternoon News in Melbourne. It seems Mike could be working Wednesday to Sunday roster this year.
Perth reporter Elle Georgiou is in Yokohama, Japan covering the latest on the corona virus outbreak near the Diamond Princess. She made a live cross to the Sydney bulletin tonight:
Melbourne reporter Estelle Griepink is reporting from Darwin on the coronavirus.
Getting in early⌠Happy 50th birthday to Mel Doyle for Monday. Such a lovely lady and a great presenter. Letâs hope she lands a new onscreen role soon.
