Seven News Presenters and Reporters (2015-Sept 2020)

With David Brown now do the weather Sunday- Thursday, it will e interesting to see who presents Seven News at Five this afternoon. Mark Ferguson?

See, I personally would prefer the loop they have now over a live shot. The liveshot is too plain IMO. Use live shots for weather and throw to breaks.

Interesting description of “Sports Director” in wiki

A sports director is an individual at a television or radio station who is in charge of the sports department. In local news, the sports director is typically the station’s primary sportscaster, and often anchors the primetime newscasts on weekdays. They are in charge of sports programming and production that airs. A sports director usually has the liberty to hire and fire the other members of his department, including their field reporters, weekend anchors, and photographers.

Doesn’t seem to describe Jim Wilson’s position at all.

Yep, I agree.

Although do any Australian TV networks even have a “Sports Director” in that sense anymore? I guess that Ken Sutcliffe might be Nine’s Sports Director (he’s been basically the main face/voice of Nine’s Wide World Of Sports and weeknight sport on Nine’s Sydney 6pm bulletin since 1988!), but apart from that?

[/quote] Robert Ovadia presented the 5pm bulletin including sport and weather.

In Queensland, Pat Welsh is now heading overseas for the Golf. Also thought it was worth mentioning that former Ten News Queensland presenter Peter O’Dempsey is reporting for BTQ Seven News.

Anyone Cap Mel’s first sports report?

Can see some clips on twitter. She is better than I expected. She will improve also over time. no doubt… especially when reading a voice over a vision package as tends to happen often in sport.

She’s a very average presenter. Her rapid fire delivery is very disconcerting, especially when contrasted with the slower, deliberate and measured style of Ferguson. I notice she stole Kenny Sutcliffe’s tagline “here we go” during the intro to her segment.

Mel McL’s first bulletin (includes the full sport segment):

And this explains Angie’s absence this weekend (travelling with the Premier):

No Bec Maddern filling-in anymore :’(

Give her time to settle in and i’m pretty sure she’s referring to her first day when she said “here we go”.

Jennifer Keyte presenting in Melbourne again this week.

I really can’t warm to Nich Etchels presenting on weekends. It’s so stilted and emotionless.

Really missing Bec Maddeen right now, all makes sense why we haven’t seen her present the weekend news in so long.

Did you also manage to make a montage of Saturday’s news as well as last night’s news? If you did then that would be great.

Outrageous disregard for the audience on the Sydney 6pm bulletin, where Mark mentioned that Talitha was filling in for Brownie, but gave no explanation as to his exact reasons for not being at work tonight.

The recording didn’t work properly on Saturday sorry.
