Apparently Chris Reason and a cammo have been doing a spot of caving in Thailand today.
It seems they have. He has posted a video on his Twitter.
I suppose knowing Seven’s track record, money talks in Thailand.
Major loss to Seven Brisbane. Patrick Condren stepping down after 33 years in journalism.
From his Twitter:
They’re going to interview the cave?
Most likely trying to snag an interview with someone of significance to the rescue but also pictures and footage inside the cave and a unique story angle, it’s no secret that 7 & 9 would be trying to get the edge on one another while they’ve got resources there covering the news and will have their cheque books open no doubt.
He has stepped away from full time reporting before with 7 News, a few years back when he went to 4BC (I think he was on mornings?). During that time he still filed an occasional report and appeared on Sunrise, from memory.
Based on his post, it looks as though he is still going to be available part time?
Such a shame, he was a good political journalist, and even co-anchored the 6pm News from time to time. I am assuming that Joel Dry is taking him place (quite disappointing that both Seven and Nine have junior political reporters).
How long was he with Seven News? More than 12 years, IIRC.
Thursday (12.07.2018): Edwina Bartholomew is presenting the Early News.
Mike Amor is back reporting from the US.
Jodie Speers returned from holidays today to present the Early News.
13/07/2018:
Amanda Abate presenting Queensland’s afternoon news from the Gold Coast it seems.
Katrina Blowers presented Monday-Thursday.
Michelle Bishop presented sport on the morning news and Sydney afternoon news.
Blake Johnson presenting in Melbourne on Friday & Saturday this week.
Seven doubling up across Brisbane / Gold Coast news bulletins.
Amanda Abate and Paul Burt on Seven Afternoon News then both again on Gold Coast News
Michael Felgate presenting sport on Friday & Saturday in Melbourne again this week.
Great to see that they are using Blake over Jacqui.
