Seven News Content and Appearance

I am so glad that the 6:57pm News was put to bed :rofl:

The Nix Fifty-Seven News

It appears Seven News have plastered their watermark over footage of that Police pursuit today, even though Nine News and others would’ve had the same vision? Isn’t the helicopter now a pooled resource, in fact used to originally be GTV’9’s?

Nine were also using said vision via 3AW, Shane McInnes and Tony Jones (filling-in for Tom Elliott and Tony Moclair respectively) were covering it live this afternoon.

Yep! I noticed this, claiming it was theirs when it must have been pool vision

Exactly. Stupid of Seven. Gives them a pretence of exclusivity even though Nine and ABC have the same chopper feed vision.

Maybe it’s to stop Ten from swiping it.

10 in Queensland had this

10 Perth had a LVO in the rundown using footage credited to 3AW.

That said, all the Melbourne networks share pooled content - except for 10, which isn’t part of the agreement.

Plus was nice to see old mate and one time Mix 101.1 program director Dean Pickering fronting today’s media on the incident, looks to have lead the operation (now an Inspector… He’s come a long way in 21 years!)

One of my favourites from classic Highway Patrol circa 15 years ago and might also be familiar to 3AW radio listeners as a regular fill-in traffic reporter (probably helped by his radio background) with ATN for Caroline Ferguson from about 2009 to 2021.

I’m surprised we have not heard anything yet on the rumoured afternoon news show being launched.

Seven News Perth with a new city backdrop - incorporating the new skyscraper at Elizabeth Quay.

It’s still such a disgrace of a studio setup.
The proportions are all wrong, there’s no depth to the lighting and the presenters are just floating in there somewhere.

If that backdrop was shown on a screen or was even a real window to the outside world, there would still be a slight bend in the perspective to match the curve. It wouldn’t just be flat like that.
