Maybe Adam Boland’s wish will come true and Melbourne will have a local edition of sunrise ![]()
AFL running overtime in Melbourne again and still a lengthy (for this scenario) 5min to go.
But a 2 point nail biting finish. Will be interesting to see tomorrow if this has helped Seven News, hindered Nine News or the opposite. If the former, a positive with the new broadcast deal (back to Sunday games weekly on FTA).
The Melbourne bulletin started at 6.07pm.
Last week it helped 7news Melb win since the news started at 6:10. Today it was 6:06-6:07
I think with the close result in this afternoon’s match, 7News in Melbourne should again win the night.
Wasn’t there recently some talk about that being a vague possibility? Or am I imagining things? (I’m probably imagining things
)
Nine News easily won in Melbourne last night by 40,000.
They both found a bargain at Noni B before it closed down.
More like Suzanne’s
Promos commonly seen in QLD are 2 types - one more generic one focussed on Unstoppable and the second about the next night.
One difference is the first has no reference to the readers while the second has an endboard that includes Sarah Greenhalgh who is currently on leave and hasn’t been seen for 7 weeks. They would do better promoting the current on air reading team more including clips of them presenting together - it is one notable difference to Nine that is currently a solo read. QLD has has dual readers for most of its news history, so I would think there would be some appeal in that.
A slight BTS from Tony during a weather report.
"After a short weather delay, fun weather Friday is back!
It’s a little different this week, I’m taking you (slightly) behind the scenes with what I see and hear while I’m on air.
I opted for a “dot point” script here, but I also fully script, or fully ad-lib depending on how quickly things change and how much time I have to prep.
This was a standard timing for this hit at 1:45, though being at the end of the bulletin I can easily gain or lose 5-10 seconds (sometimes even 20), if things change before me. It’s usually the sport department’s fault! ![]()
You’ll also notice I stand a couple of metres in front of the screen, this is to help with lighting and camera focus. I use a monitor to the side for my pointing.
Thanks to all the team behind the scenes that makes all of this come together!"
That set looks so sterile and basic.
