You couldn’t use 7 ‘National News’ branding for the main 6pm news bulletin as you then loose the all important ‘local news’ element that the commercials like to push.
Quite like the backdrop image though.
I think you can still overlay a ‘national’ brand with familiar local faces, local imagery, sub titled bulletins and still feel local eg. “Seven National News” with eg. Brisbane underneath it and a local city backdrop titlecard with their current 6pm presenters on it etc.
And promote the local stories in the bulletin as well.
SEVEN NETWORK NATIONAL NOON NEWS NOW
Best brand name for the bulletin - I’ve thrown my hat in the ring.
Doubt anyone can top this
National Nine News had no issues with it throughout the 80s and 90s.
This looks horrendous. Doesn’t match anything else from the brand.
Really feels like they’re trying to mimick 10 News First Midday with the stylistic design.
(Sorry Nick, didn’t mean to reply to you)
Also great consistency when everything is 3D except the actual logo
One - Seven have used “Seven National News” before in the early 80s in Sydney at least.
Two - it’s not the same as Nine, the words are in reverse order.
7 was also Seven National News in Queensland in the 80s at least.
Was also used in Melbourne, Brisbane, and Adelaide
Yes - as mentioned yesterday
I retract my previous remarks
Perth also!!
According to Sunday Herald Sun’s Fiona Byrne, AstroTash’s horoscope has been axed from the 6pm bulletin. Byrne wrote that the word out is AstroTash (Natasha Weber) remains a vital part of the network with her segments on The Morning Show and 7news.com.au to continue.
Now we just need the Friday 6:57pm segment with Mark Humphries to never return.
That was reported several days ago by DM
Looks likely.
Can’t believe 7 Perth have the Trump inauguration on 3 hour delay. Every other channel covering it in Perth is broadcasting it live.
A Very poor decision.
