Who would join Jane on the desk?

Mike?

Maybe Will McDonald or Brenton Ragless, I think they would need to headhunt. My understanding is that Mike Smithson doesn’t want to present full time.

I think people are reading too much into this - it’s just a way of reading into your lead story.

For example, Ann Sanders will often start with “Hello everyone, first this morning…” - it’s the same deal on the 4/5pm news.

Brenton is part of the double headed flagship so I imagine he’s got a good gig going. Will heads the 5pm and weekend news but he wound back a bit last year to undergo chemo.

He hardly missed a beat last year.

Can’t see them poaching him though. Maybe Jane doesn’t want a co-anchor.

Do you think Rosanna wants one? They are targeting weekends because it is the immediate problem. It also aligns with whatever the strategy is in Sydney.

But, as you mentioned earlier, they have now lost their senior reporter by tying him to the desk five days a week.

Adelaide Morning news debuts today.

I really do hope we see local editions extended to Melbourne and Brisbane. Not a fan of the national edition.

There was an auto cue error in Adelaide when it seemed a sport story was loaded in error; Mike (or a producer) realised and he switched to the print out for the actual story that was about border closures.

What a dreadful angle. Sure it makes the desk look good but it completely dwarfs the presenter.

I’d say of those two, Brisbane would most likely do it sooner than Melbourne due to daylight saving. Queenslanders will not want news that is an hour old.

I quite like the look of the red, white and black colour scheme in the Adelaide Morning News promo.
