10s certainly isn’t perfect as I’ve thoroughly discussed in the past, but it’s a lot less jarring to the eye than the mix of red and white.
Each to their own.

Tarsh is so good.
The EP running the show was the EP of The Latest before it moved to Perth.
I just love that Tarsh is presenting a bulletin again.
I guess for 12pm you don’t really need a hard hitting bulletin, you need something you can chop up that will be dispersed on specials and grabs hits.
I also quite like the all white supers. It’s fresh.
I also don’t mind the set background. I’m hoping (although unlikely) maybe we will get some updated title cards for the metro bulletins. Wishful I guess.
7 News midday loooks 10000000000% nicer than Ten’s cheap under the sea routine. The red and white look great, the only thing I’d change is simplify the background to have just one globe/map in the main seated shot. It’s certainly nicer than some weird buildings.

Disagree. 10s set is far more visually appealing than Sevens. I’ve never been a fan of the Sydney set. Far too washed out in red and white. Also, I’m not a fan of the angled desk.
Could still have been The Latest: At noon or Midday
Move over News at Noon, and welcome The Latest at Lunch.
Should have had more news stories. Should have had the Debrief (panellists talking about hot topics) down the track. Not on day one.
I agree with you. I’m worried about Melbourne’s new set soon
Or just call it The Daily in a nod to a similarly underwhelming nightly digital news attempt from the same network stable.
Are Seven seriously expecting viewers to buy into this half-hearted attempt at competition? History has shown that this kind of format didn’t work as a mid-afternoon Sunrise-lite offering at 2 PM, nor at 11 PM—and it certainly doesn’t feel appropriate for the midday slot.
Granted, viewers might not want ‘hard news’ in the middle of their lunch break, but an 11 AM-style format, with a softer, more relaxed approach, would seem far better suited for this time slot.
The current Melbourne set is a lot better. Unfortunately, I think we’ll see an exact replica is Sydney’s news set at HSV7.
you see that on National bulletins too
He means ‘rarely seen’.
So how did this all play out?
Hopefully it will evolve over time.
7 News: The Daily, sure.
Yeah Seven’s is a bit busy but 10’s blue overload looks worse. Reminds me of what Seven used to have (which was heavily criticised).
The red and white is a much nicer combo
