Seven News Content and Appearance (2020-Feb 2025)

Allan Stone, Garry Wilkinson and John Alexander are still calling the tennis… Peter Hitchener’s still reading the news… Bruce still doing the races… None look like slowing down either. Sometimes if you’re healthy enough and feel able, there’s still that fire burning inside!

Undermines her ability to read an autocue standing as opposed to sitting? She’s not a meteorologist…theres no credibility to be lost.

This is why I’ve said for years that you don’t need a separate weather presenter unless they are a meteorologist. But apparently all that matters is they look pretty and can read an autocue fluently :innocent:

From The Australian;

Saucy topic

Seven is certainly trying to add some spice to its content. Its social media accounts rolled out a video on the weekend with vertical video lead Sonny Loudon asking employees in the Sydney newsroom: “How should you store your tomato sauce? Do you keep tomato sauce in the fridge or the pantry?”

All the big issues at Seven.

It was a truly bad video but also in line with the garbage put out on air and on the website.

I thought the same. It wasn’t even good cringe.

I saw it and didnt think it was that bad.

Connects viewers to those on the news on a more relatable level.

On it’s own it was fine. In the context of 6.57 news and horoscopes… not so much.

The “story” though is about 7 or 8 years too late. Who is still talking about that topic - come up with something original.

How I yearn for the days of the great tomato sauce storage debate of 2016-17. Simpler times :relieved:

Brisbane and Melbourne News didn’t start with Olympics tonight - Melbourne was AFL and Brisbane was an inquest into police shooting followed by a story about the Broncos.

Not so for Sydney

Sorry not a fan of those graphics… the shorter ones in the front look like it’s a glitch

Maybe some attempt to try and take viewers’ minds off the Olympics / not publicise the Games?

A new segment called ‘Bright Side’ presented by Jane Bunn has been introduced to the Melbourne bulletin from tonight. It will be a nightly segment after the weather featuring a short ‘good news’ story.

They’re turning the nightly 7 news into a newspaper offering.

Guessing Chris Salter brought this over from Adelaide’s bulletin (He was news director when they started to do the ray of sunshine, which is the same thing as the new bright side segment).

Will Jack Riewoldt appear with a mic belting out that banger again? :notes:

It really is… I agree.

Next it’ll be classifieds and opinion pieces

I’m waiting for a puzzle leading into a commercial break and then an answer after the break.
