Each to their own. Give me a nice well designed (eg NOT Perth’s) over a live shot any day.
I don’t mind backdrop loops when they’re done well (ABC News’ various backdrops are a good example), but Seven News Sydney’s previous two loops weren’t IMO!

Agree 100%. Live shot works so much better. I do not understand the dribs and drabs of changes though. Is it an effort to not alienate viewers (perhaps like Sunrise earlier this year???)

Seven’s bulletin cameras are HD in Melbourne. The updates are produced in SD though.

First time I’ve been home in time for Seven News in the last couple weeks, so first time noticing their latest partial birth abortion of a graphics rollout.
These bizarre half-updates and inconsequential tweaks are just beyond comprehension.
What company pisses away billable hours for no observable benefit and with no underpinning rationale? Constantly fiddling with trivial shit every 6 months for absolutely no reason rather than doing a good, detailed, planned refresh every 3 years or so.
Just useless.

Do any of you amazing people have a recent video of a Seven News Sydney Update?
Noticed that they have used that screen for a couple of live reports in-studio in the last couple of weeks.
The set isn’t amazing but at least they are making use of the space they have.
