No, their website happened to pop up when I typed in “Virtual Set Design Perth”. Not related to Perth set.
Could it be the rumoured Sydney Virtual Set that was dropped last minute?
Anything could be rumoured, so why not start this one
I was thinking the same. Could be.
While streaming Perth’s 4.30 News earlier, I noticed that you can faintly hear (yes, even despite the rather compressed sounding audio that comes with these online streams) the old 2004-16 Seven News theme music at the end of the Opener titlecard stings! Well, at least it sounded like that to me:
Also, I can understand where Perth viewers are coming from as far as the quality of the bulletin format is concerned. The TT preview is perhaps understandable, but what’s with the cross to GWN7 News? It’s kind of like they’re trying to promote that night’s regional bulletin but of course since Perth metropolitan viewers don’t get it, they avoid saying that the stories are coming up tonight on GWN7 News!
Quick mock up:
Overkill for the existing bulletins but would work perfectly if Seven ever launched 7News24 (not likely!).
Plus I would doubt, that Martin Place would have room to accomdate a set like this.
I find it interesting that Perth still uses the “slamming doors” transition sound effect from the 2004 relaunch unlike the swoosh sound effect used in the other states!
They did use it during the infamous 2014 theme change, but then reverted back to the old one.
I agree, although to be fair Sydney (and probably most markets) still uses that SFX from the 2004 relaunch music package for their “Breaking News” stinger…
So if this was the planned Sydney Virtual Set from those reports from last September pointing to a relaunch that ultimately never happened, could that mean that the current Sydney set was done in-house, or was that also done by the same agency who built the current Sunrise set?
I’m 99% sure that the current Seven News Sydney/national set was done by the same agency who built the current Sunrise set.
The tweaks made to the old news set in February last year? I’m not 100% sure, but if I was to guess probably an in-house job.
What tweaks were made?
The new desk and there was also the experimentation with presenting Sydney’s weather in front of a plasma (that was in front of the videowall, talk about pointless!) for about two months…
it’s broadcasted across WA and is kinda a state bulletin as opposed to a city one
7 News bug flipping to 7 logo and Olympic Rings underneath it. Seen on update during The Daily Edition.
O my gosh. You people here do nothing but mock every single thing about Seven News. Now you want 24 hours of it? Haha
Is the Seven logo a single color when it rotates with the Olympic Rings, or a gradient like the current News bug?
Nvm, Caps (Couldn’t get the rotate):
