Perhaps, but I don’t think having two presenters would really affect the design of the set that much.
Yeah, fair point. Maybe just the three plasma design wouldn’t have worked, otherwise why wouldn’t they use it.
They can leave the Melbourne set alone thank you. I don’t want to see it replaced with what is now the Sydney set.
Our Melbourne one is far superior IMO. If anything just extend the set and create new presenting areas with a few side plasmas.
finally some common sense agree 100% with Mischievous
Have to agree, I’m not really looking forward to the replica set down her (If it happens)
Yes but remember Sharyn used to win both Saturdays and Sundays by a much bigger margin than what Rod and Kay are now.

Yes but remember Sharyn used to win both Saturdays and Sundays by a much bigger margin than what Rod and Kay are now.
There are a number of contributors to that. For a start no one said Sharyn wasn’t or wouldn’t be great on the weekends, I know she was one of the factors that helped 7 News Brisbane to number 1. It is just unfortunate that she didn’t carry that popularity as a whole to the weekdays. Seven News as a whole though has decreased in popularity and Nine News QLD now has a double header on the weekends, which strengthened their ratings.
In Sydney today should have brought Perth weather with me lol how long has 7 not had a live feed for there background
Since July 2014.
I posted a recent 7 News Brisbane promo and commented that it was questionable to use the tag “For almost 60 years” when the station has been on air for less than 57.
Now see the a new promo also concentrating on experience where the 60 years now refers to the combined experience of the anchors. The tag line is Seven News Brisbane Promo - “Television’s most experienced News Team”.
Video
A promo emphasising the years of experience that the presenters and reporters have had in the news/media business? That seems very familiar…oh wait!
Who cares? It’s hardly an original idea.
exactly. Seven rolled out the same thing back in 1996 when it had David Johnston take over as newsreader in Melbourne, promoting his “30 years of experience”.
Not bad.
They really need to update that ended though. Time for a shot of the two of them at the end, similar to Melbourne and Sydney .
One hour news in Adelaide and Perth this evening.
Special background for Melbourne tonight.

Gold coast using a nice mix of a local backdrop and the national globe backdrop.
What? Seven’s local Afternoon News has always used that awful backdrop.
Yep, personally I agree that the backdrop used on the Queensland edition of Seven’s Afternoon News looks awful! Either use the national backdrop or a local backdrop of Brisbane, don’t meet halfway!
Oops. My bad. Don’t live in AUS so I don’t watch local news much.
