Yeah I can’t see Comcast wanting a FTA network here and Disney would surely favour Nine due to content and Stan.
I dont think you’ll see history repeat with an American TV giant saving an ailing Aussie FTA network… it was such a perfect storm of circumstances that lead to that opportunity - it wasnt just that CBS wanted 10.
As for Seven, I can see the tie up with News Corp. Nine has/is Fairfax… so it makes sense. Especially with the current regime at Seven now… who drove 10 into the ground with “good for business, bad for tv” decisions?
Axing your highest rating half hour programs in your strongest markets is either a stroke of genius or the worst decision ever.
I guess we’ll know next week whether viewers want an extra half hour of Rick and Sue… or whether they’ll experiment.
Im willing to be the ratings change at 630 will be minimal in the two smallest capital TV markets
ADL and PER May have the highest shares of any main seven stations (except QLD) but they contribute the least to the network share and bottom line in gross income
A minimal ratings change in either direction will support their decision to axe TT - lots of money for little gain is their argument.
I’m intrigued to see if they will even acknowledge these changes on air, 7Perth seems to sweep things under the carpet and report it there way since they own half of the media in WA.
Today Tonight (in Perth anyway) over the years has been condensed into really only 15 minutes or so, with Seven News finishing later and later to now around 6:37, so I don’t know if there will be an entire boycott.
If Seven Perth had brains (which judging by recent events over the years, they don’t) then they would make careful considerations to the rundown to ensure that viewers still receive that fast paced news within that 30 minutes with sport and then continue to more in-depth stories after sport.
God that desk is hideous. And what’s with the changing colours - is it a fucking mood ring?
Totally agree. I don’t mind the changing colours, but I literally can’t take those caps seriously… It’s that hideous…
Given all the cut backs 7 has been making, I wouldn’t be surprised if they picked it up from the Salvos for a few bucks!
Considering The West is going all in with promoting its coverage of the trial, I would expect a lot more of these editions to occur as the trial continues. Perfect cross-promotional activity.

I know this is obvious to some but make it clear now - Which is really the better 6pm anchor in Sydney?
That’s an error - news programming is excluded from classifications
Is it rare for 7 Perth to cross to GWN colleagues to get live reports?
They don’t cross for stories, they’ll always send their own reporter even if GWN could cover for them. They just promo what happening in Regional WA with noel.

You are just speculating to rumors. Either you are jealous the fact that 7 perth have had the same presenters for a long time, or just like posting stuff that makes no sense to me. You don’t live in perth, you don’t see the interaction etc that they do. You don’t know f… all about Rick and Sue and 7 News Perth.
How do you know he’s never lived there? Got anything to back that up?
