Please stop, you’re just sounding preternatural now

But this forum is about factual and honest information?

I am looking very forward to Mark taking the No: 1 title for 2018 in Sydney

Here are some facts for you.

*Seven News Sydney has not won a ratings year since 2010…when Chris Bath was the main newsreader of the bulletin.
*Mark Ferguson has never won a ratings year when he’s been the lead Sydney 6pm newsreader for either Nine or Seven.
*During the 2017 ratings year, Seven News Sydney only convincingly won a single ratings week.
*Since 2013, Nine News Sydney has managed to take out the ratings year not in October or November, but Late July/Early August.

Knowing what has happened in recent years, Nine News Sydney will probably again take out the ratings year by Early August at the latest.

So Bill McDonald returns to 7news Brisbane and the ratings plummet. I think 7 has won most nights so far for 2018, but this week 9 has won convincingly.
Is it Bill or the fact that the lead in this week is the tennis and not The Chase?

This Fergo stuff is in the wrong forum. Please either move it to Seven News Presenters and Reporters or mark.ferguson@sevennews.com.au

Or stop engaging with pointless posts that are clearly nothing more than to get a rise out of some folk :ok_hand:

With Melb getting a new set, what are the chances Perth do something about the hideous mess they have this year?

Probably 0%. They’re useless.

This (IMHO)

You would think that the tennis would give the news more of a lead, though.

Plus, Bill is up against Darren Curtis, who isn’t the strongest anchor either. The sad thing is that had Kay anchored this week, Seven would have likely won.

Something to do with Nine being “the one in 2018”? Sorry what year are we in again?

Today marks a significant anniversary in the history of Seven News. Anyone know what that is?

I instantly thought the helicopter crash, being one of my earliest memories and being in summer, but a quick Google shows that was 7th Jan 82. So I’ll go with the new theme that only lasted a few days.

1988 - the date of the “Seven Nightly News” relaunch in Sydney, Melbourne & Brisbane.

Also the first night that Seven used “The Mission” as their news theme which remains in use (albeit, there’s been a few remixes since. And there was the replacement attempt in 2014…) to this day. In Sydney, it would’ve been the night that Ann Sanders presented her first news bulletin for Seven!

Yep. I remember where I was at 6.30pm on this day thirty years ago. Family had just arrived back from holiday in Coffs Harbour. I’d seen the ads for the revamp featuring snippets of the distinctive NBC theme before we left. I was very excited but had nobody to share the excitement with. New set, new theme, new graphics, new presenters (in Sydney).

This is the promo that led up to the relaunch.
