Oh, well, I thought it was pretty decent I like the presenting style as well as the presentation of headlines and transitions of the Queenslandâs as it feels more like a mini Nightly Bulletin. Perthâs Afternoon News is fine to watch, but I feel itâs a bit more underwhelming and less polished.
Good Laugh
Last time I watched, the Perth afternoon news felt like an extended update more than a bulletin.
See the full report tonight at six.
Bring back the national bulletin in Melbourne and Brisbane Seven! I canât stand either local bulletin.
Iâd personally love to have a proper local Afternoon News bulletin here in Sydney from Seven (or Nine for that matter) rather than a semi-national one, provided that itâs more than just an extended promo for the 6pm news of course.
I agree totally with this. Although I like Melbourne news, I canât stand Felgate and Bunn to the point where I just donât watch the bulletin. Even if it was a national bulletin knowing that Ann and Brownie were on I would still watch it and if it is significant enough it gets plenty of coverage. I just canât handle Felgate and Bunn, they are so fake in their presentation. Neither has authority or a voice for presenting news.
I think thereâs a few reasons why Seven News does a Queensland edition of the Afternoon News.
*Because Nine also does it
*1 hour time difference between the South Eastern states and Queensland at this time of year, due to the latter stateâs resistance to Daylight Saving
*Because people in Queensland generally like local news/content.
Finally someone who agrees with me. And Nine get rid of theirs in QLD too.
It sounds appealing on paper (I liked the idea too at first) but the bulletins have bad content and bad presentation.
I think the networks should run their news and current affairs live during AEDST. Then in QLD, fill the gap with a local bulletin which wouldnât future outside of daylight savings. The bulletin isnât even that local.
This is true.
But if this was the case then why was Mel Doyle and Reaso losing to Georgie Gardner on Fridays WITH THE CHASE, and Michael and Fergo win FRIDAYS WITH THE SAME LEAD IN? Is it a case of viewers wanting a male presenter on weekends?
The Chase has come along way since its debut. Look at Monday-Thursday with Mark Ferguson who has had great increase in numbers at six this year.

Quite possibly as even Mark Ferguson did REALLY well on the few Fridays evenings he presented this year. Or it could not be necessarily that they are males, but might just be because having the male anchor is a difference to Nineâs offering.
The chase is what has basically whats pulled 7NEWS out of the grave. Was a brilliant decision.
By the same token you could say that Nine News won in the past due to Hot Seat as a lead in and that had Million Dollar Minute etc rated better, Seven News would have rated a lot better previously.
With the Gold Coast sub-market, do they get news updates from Seven News Gold Coast or Seven News Brisbane?
A mixture.
How did Seven News Gold Coast go this year ratings wise? Nine News Gold Coast still number 1 in the market thus far?
Iâm guessing it must chop and change. I notice some days âThe Chaseâ wins; other days âHot Seatâ is ahead.
Well I think thatâs how itâs coded in the ratings
Unconfirmed, but hearing reports seven is about to axe its weekend edition of 7 Gold Coast News. Bulletin has failed to gain traction, and Nine hasnât lost a week since they started.
Why would they do that so soon? Thatâd be crazy
