Who is the voice over man? I remember he also did most of the show promos on Seven throughout the 90s

Matthew O’Sullivan, currently does a lot of the voiceover work for Nine News & 60 Minutes.

Managed to find an almost full half hour bulletin of Seven Nightly News Melbourne from July 11, 1999, presented by Dean Felton.

When did 7 changed their news from blue to red?

Continuing the trip through the Seven News Sydney archives, a Sunday night bulletin with Leigh Hatcher (who I already knew was an ATN reporter back in the day, but didn’t know read bulletins there too) & John Brady from this date in 1989:

Sharp eyed viewers may have noticed that Seven Sydney really gave that “Sydney Harbour Bridge model” footage a workout in their news openers/graphics, in-use from 1989 until the September 1997-ish relaunch!

Also just FYI: Apparently there are plans to eventually upload old Seven News bulletins from all markets to that channel, but Sydney content is currently the easiest to access - presumably because Seven News’ social media operations and the ATN news archives are in Sydney. Although I thought I remember reading somewhere that the Seven Network archives were located in Brisbane nowadays…

The program archive is now at BTQ, but each newsroom retains their own news footage archive.

The 7NEWS Vault has been responding to people’s questions lately, when someone asked about the possibility of Melbourne bulletins:

And in response to my question, the possibility of Perth bulletins too…

Newsworld bulletin now uploaded to Seven’s YouTube vault. Unsure if this is a national program or not, bit before my time

Still a local Sydney bulletin at that stage. The Sydney only weather forecast confirms that.

Great story on Anne Fulwood’s exchange experience in Austin, Texas at around the 17.00.

Brisbane had a Newsworld in 1986, but I don’t know if it was local or the Sydney program.

Melbourne had its own version of Newsworld until 1987 when it relayed the Clive Robertson version from Sydney.

Sorry didn’t actually watch the entirety

Ah yes I think I saw a glimpse of that on YouTube too. I think Adelaide may have also had their own, but I’m fairly certain that it was just an intro and then broadcast something from the US

From what I’ve read Melbourne had a local late night news bulletin throughout the 80s until it ended in 1987.

Here’s a video of Melbourne’s NewsWorld from 1985

Brisbane indeed had local NewsWorld. There were also local late “world news” bulletins on TVQ and QTQ as well.

Local late news was king back in the 70/80s.

Re, NewsWorld: I was under the impression that all (or at least most) of Seven’s local stations had their own edition for a while in the 1980s. Then the irreverent Clive Robertson fronted program from Sydney started to gain a cult following, which lead to it eventually being networked and Nine wanting a piece of the action.

It may have been that experience which lead to Anne Fulwood moving onto Ten Sydney about a year or so after this?

Greg Grainger: “Get her over here next” - as we now know, that (Anne presenting Seven’s Late News) would happen around a decade later!
