While Kay and Rod deserve the credit for taking Seven News to number one in the Brisbane market in 2007, it should also be noted that the arrivals of John Schluter and Sharyn Ghidella, as well as the hiring of Shane Webcke as its new sports presenter, helped to boost and solidify things.
It was always going to take a while for them to overtake the mob down the road, Bruce and Heather having led Nine’s news ratings dominance in the 90s and early 2000s.
Sydney had a large 7 logo on a blue square above its set which existed between 2005-10, while Brisbane had a medium-sized logo on a blue (later wood) panel above its set between February 2006-January 2012.

Also, Perth already had news at 6pm, A State Affair (with Steve Taylor) at 6.30 and Home and Away at 7pm. Not sure what news line-up Adelaide had on Seven then.
In 1988, SAS7 Adelaide had Home And Away at 5.30pm, Seven Nightly News at 6.00pm and Hinch at 7.00pm. The one-hour news format was a legacy from SAS’s former Ten affiliation where it had a one-hour Eyewitness News.
Not sure when SAS switched to a half-hour news, etc.
Thanks, I did note that in September 1987 (before the affiliation swap of Dec 27, 1987) that ADS-7 had TWO current affairs shows back to back in prime time. An unusual format.

Some good news, all of Seven’s film reports from the Adelaide newsroom have now been digitized - the Adelaide flashback segment marked the occasion with a behind the scenes look at the process in the “7 Lab” in Brisbane (where the networks archives are).
Should be noted that most, if not, all of these are likely to be from when SAS7 was SAS10.
A disaster for BTQ7 in 1988 moving news to 6.30 on the back end of a woeful 1987. It gave TVQ0 some of its best news ratings during Expo 88 however QTQ9’s ratings were huge in comparison to that of 7 & 0.
