I’m assuming this was the Sydney local edition?

Nearly 26 years to the day since this aired only in Victoria (During the Evening of January 1 of 2000).

Note here a much younger Craig Hutchinson as well as a the then-new Seven logo (The previous one was seen during the Victoria and Western Australia 6:00 PM News bulletins). I wonder if anyone has the full Seven Nightly News Victoria bulletin for January 2 of 2000?

Also worth mentioning that both NRL States had the new logo seen during respective 6:00 PM Bulletins.

7 should’ve got Hutchy back to his OG network instead of Kane Cornes

If Tom Morris leaves Nine for Seven maybe Hutchy can return to former as the network’s Chief Senior AFL Reporter.

I kinda think he’s got bigger fish to fry these days

IIRC, David Brown was dumped as weatherman during the 2012-13 summer period and appointed “network meteorologist”, though retained his role on the national 4:30 news.

He later became the weatherman on the Sydney 6:00pm bulletin (as well as the national morning and Sydney afternoon bulletins), before retiring in 2020.

Re: Simon Pristel - he presided over a very tough period for Seven News in Melbourne which only won something like five weeks between 2012-17 (all in 2016) inclusive? It wasn’t that Nine News was very strong (as is still the case today), it was more Seven News being very poor, IMO.

Any reason why Sydney didn’t have a weather presenter?

Adam Digby came up from Melbourne in 1996

His successor as weather presenter on the Sydney bulletin, Nuala Hafner, was from Adelaide (I believe), as was Sarah Cumming who presented weather between 2011-15 before being quietly replaced by David Brown in 2016.

Sara Groen, then a presenter on Saturday Disney, presented weather between 2007-10 before relocating to Melbourne in 2011 (where she filled in for Brown at least once).

So all of 1995 they had no weather presenter?
