Yes, good find. It does seem like HSV7 has always had its current affairs shows produced from the same news studio.
Where ACA has always been produced (mostly) from a seperate studio.

Regarding Chris Reason, I remember him (and Adrian Brown) being in Singapore covering the execution of Van Tuong Nguyen, who was from Melbourne, in December 2005.
NIck Etchells (then a reporter for Seven News Melbourne) would’ve covered it locally, though I recall him reporting on Sunrise that morning.

I think it was around 2008 or 2009 during an Interest Rate update.
They were in the same studio. Just at right angles to each other.
Nothing will beat the helicopter intro
At this point only Melbourne and Brisbane broke away from the national bulletin with their new local editions.
Sydney, Adelaide and Perth continued to receive the national bulletin, though the latter market cut away halfway through for a local 4:30 bulletin.
It wasn’t until 2017 that all markets would receive local afternoon bulletins.
Maybe I am showing my age, but in 99/2000 (location depending) the red remix intro was revolutionary. Had never seen anything like it before. The update to the chopper intro was very impressive but got butchered eventually.
While it was one of the best themes Seven News ever had, IMO it didn’t reflect well on the brand esp when it was being thrashed by Nine News nationally.
I’ll also always say that the 2004 relaunch (with the helicopter opener you mentioned) “Americanized” the brand, giving it an NBC-style feel.
The helicopter intro was only used in Perth in the late 2000s until the 2010 refresh. It was dropped on East Coast bulletins around 2006
I cant imagine you’d remember that era young fella! But that era was pretty miserable for the bulletins ratings wise. And looking back now it very dated.
I was 14 in 2000! soooo yeah I can remember just haha, but wasn’t paying attention to TV ratings then, just remember how funky the red intro was and the pumping music!
This is a segment from one of the first Australian morning television programs, ‘Today’. Sourced from the National Film and Sound Archive, the program ran on ATN7 (Channel 7) and was hosted by Ray Taylor. This excerpt is from 1959 and contains the daily headlines, a weather and ski report, as well as some musical and children’s entertainment.

SAS10, now 7, had a show called Today in the 60s.
yes they did though it started in the mid-1960s. I think it finished around 1971-ish?
As did GTV9 in Melbourne, hosted by Tony Charlton.
Ah the good old days before networking killed the localism.
The first regular local afternoon news for Seven Qld was live from the opening day of the RNA 10 August 2015.
