That’s probably how it should be done all the time but with each episode reduced in size. You can have a longer first show to lanch the series but generally it should then be two one-hour episodes of renos and a 90 minute episode for the reveal. Short and sweet.
Can someone please clarify the discussion about House Rules? Are we saying there’s an ep next Thursday?
It’s House Rules - does anyone care?
Yes. That’s what the guide says. Sunday to Thursday.
Seven has scheduled this season of My Kitchen Rules twice on Thursdays trying to fool its rivals, but only showed it once on the night.
I’ve noticed more than any other network, Seven occasionally air the wrong promo in a particular market.
More so for Friday and Saturday programming (i.e.) different movies or split schedules.
(e.g.)
After Seven Morning News (before the midday movie), Ch 7 aired a promo for the new Friday line-up on Ch 7…
Oops…
VIC & SA aren’t getting that
I think it’s on 7Two?
(Yet last week I saw correct 7Two versions of a promo).
I thought it was 6.30 MC, 7.30 Renovators, 8.30 MC continues. I remember thinking that many people would miss the whole first half because they’d expect it to start at 7.30 as usual, That was dumb enough by itself, but then those same people found themselves watching Renovators and saying “WTF?”, which made it super dumb.
I think a lot of people are going to expect the MKR final to be at 7pm and when they tune in and see House Rules, they are liable to switch to The Voice and watch that to the end.
Encore of Aussie Floperty Flippers on Saturday night followed by Seven Year Switch - markets may vary; check local guide.
I’m just watching the week’s MKR episodes (in Melbourne). For each day I’ve been using the same weekly recording every week all series, but found AFL on Monday’s recording instead of MKR. The ratings thread for that day indicates that AFL was on 7Mate in Melbourne, not Seven. So either that is not right or my recording suddenly switched to recording 7Mate that night. It’s not even possible to change the channel for a to-be-recorded weekly show, so I couldn’t have done it by accident.
On the Monday IIRC in Melbourne, Seven switched the 7HD channel 70 to 7Mate for the whole day to show the AFL in HD but left the SD channel with MKR. As was mentioned when this was discussed anyone who had set up a timer record for programs on the HD channel 70 would be in for a surprise when they tried to watch them back.
I missed that discussion. I thought I just needed to keep track of your schedule postings, which I do, but I don’t read every other post.
Wow. Not only do you have to be on the ball with late schedule changes and overruns, you have to be on the lookout for the networks suddenly changing channels around as well!
AFAIK Seven told no-one about this, and it was only the above item that drew our attention to the change. It didn’t show up in any of the program schedules.
As I said before:
That’s pathetic by Seven.
I suppose it wouldn’t be in the schedule because technically MKR was on Seven and the schedule doesn’t distinguish between HD and SD. My ire is 100% directed at Seven for making changes like that and requiring people to have to look out for them. It’s too much to ask, and in this case it was near impossible. It was the only episode I’ve missed this season.
