It’s a smart move, considering how well the strategy seems to work in the past for them, even if annoying for loyal H&A viewers which has also been performing strong in 2023. Wouldn’t be surprised if roadblocked for 1-5min across their m/c (bar Bravo) at 7pm too to get any more eyes across to the main. And with all the promotion already and upcoming this week during Chase, news, H&A, 1%, the special cricket test and 5 FTA AFL games in Melbourne alone (including Thursday back, a special public holiday eve & Sunday prime time and the traditional Big Freeze/Monday Kings Birthday clash leading-in to Seven News and then the launch… Seven will be bitterly disappointed if it flops hard on debut!

Admittedly, I stopped watching that show over a decade ago. Was getting sick of some of the repetitive storylines (if there were any).

According to Sunday Herald Sun’s Fiona Byrne, Seven is expected to show a John Cleese roast special later this year. It will be held at Melbourne’s Crown Palladium on July 19 (tickets are now on sale via Ticketmaster) and again be hosted and produced by Shane Jacobson, who also made the Paul Hogan Roast last year.
The Australian Roast of John Cleese will take place a week before the comedian’s Australian tour begins in Hobart.
