It’s possible. Next Wednesday the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo starts at 8.45pm. A regular episode of House Rules is one hour 15 minutes long with ads so it fits with the schedule.
Just saw the promo for next week’s episode of Seven Year Switch. At the moment it is still scheduled at 9pm. So next Tuesday it’s possible to have either MKR grand final at 7pm or the season premiere of House Rules at 7.30pm.
A House Rules house reveal-MKR grand final double header on Sunday May 1? This is even bolder than 2011 when The Renovators started on the same night as MasterChef final.
Except for series 1 (with just 2 episodes per week) the biggest gap between the last 2 episodes was series 4 when the semi-final was on Wednesday and fans had to wait until the Sunday for the final. The rest have been on consecutive nights. A six-day gap is big.
The Edinburgh Tattoo is now being advertised as 8.40 not 8.45. That sounds like HR will precede it.
Update: promo just aired during Sunrise. House Rules starts Wednesday 7.30
It’s a good move and catches Nine and Ten out a bit.
Will Ten start Masterchef on the Wednesday or wait until the following Sunday or Monday? Will Nine premiere The Voice mid week, Sunday/Monday or wait until after The Logies?

I think in today’s environment, Ten wouldn’t have axed it if it got the same ratings it did then. Seven have proven that with work, it is possible to grow from a low first season.
Just look how they’ve strung The Biggest Loser along.
