Seven Network 2024

I don’t think that has been renewed for another season yet & the good Doctor spin-off hasn’t been full season approved yet too. I think both are due to the strikes

No need for this or any of those B-grade American or British dramas. Cheap and nasty.

They need to use all their profits to invest in Australian content.

First of all, overseas shows are not really crucial in their schedule and secondly because of the actors’ strike in America there’s an uncertainty about most shows returning or even continuing.

Echoing others, pretty bland slate. Surprised SAS is back yet again, depsite what I’d call mediocre total tv and VOZ ratings and this season only just started. What does Ant Middleton have over Seven execs!?

Also interesting to see long Seven factual staples Border and HP back for new eps.

And looks like 7flix/7Plus will show more/remaining seasons of at least SVU and CI, the otherwise struggling m/c’s sole highlight for 2023.

Don’t expect Paris to be a patch on Tokyo though, or London for that matter

A disaster next year for 7. No Olympics, Melbourne Cup Carnival or a major sporting event on the network

Bar events like the Aus Open, AFL GF and Bathurst, like 2009-2015 (when Winter Olympics, Olympics and Comm Games were on Nine and Ten)? Yet Seven dominated each of those years… Or 2017 (bar RLWC), again a victory for Seven?? Only 2019 and 2020 more recently poor results for Seven, perhaps yes indicative of a 2024 result, although 2020 was originally meant to have Tokyo Olympics.

Could they be holding off on launching a new streaming service because they want to put it, 7news and 7plus all into one app.

Couldn’t they have done that by now?

Has that been confirmed? Or is it waiting for this years carnival to be over before confirmation.

Most likely, they’d only bother to announce a renewal if it was staying with the same network.

Any word on 7Two will be HD 2024

Is Stan profitable?

Of all the global streamers only Netflix is profitable.
And they were first to market.

Para, Peacock, Disney etc all loose money.

Id be a bit surprised if Stan turns a profit

That said NEC is right in needing to be in that space.

Every year it gets harder and harder and harder for seven

I anticipate Max coming to AU in 2025

Bit long term there will be consolidation

Launching a streaming platform and building up content t is massively expensive I think seven may have missed the boat

I think Seven will just hitch their boat to an existing streaming service when they feel it is necessary. They could spend billions setting up a rival to Stan or just hook up with an existing service. Maybe, Peacock or Disney or Max.

With Ten linked to CBS and Paramount, maybe Seven are thinking the same thing is inevitable for them in the future and do it when the time is right.

They might’ve missed the boat, I agree, but I think they know what they’re doing here.

A lot of members have very simplistic views here on what they should be doing but any streaming play they make is a big investment and in a highly competitive and fragmented space, that and I’d say they were pretty burnt with their involvement in Presto.

Who’s to say they can’t simply lead the charge with being the number 1 in Aus in the BVOD and FAST space? I think they’re pioneers in both and seems to be working for them for now anyway, as long as they keep innovating their product which they seem to be doing with content, features and digital rights.

There are other ways to generate various streams of revenue and income than SVOD and 7 rightly are able to chase a pretty penny in the advertising space given they’re #1 whether it’s FTA, streaming, catch-up etc. They also have other output deals which seem to be working for them with 7Bravo etc.

Nothing to stop them making a move for a D2C subscription offering in future as part of 7+ if they want to paywall some content if all the infrastructure is there in place.

I don’t think Disney is linked up with any FTA player
Anywhere in the world are they? So that seems unlikely

Peacock won’t be around in a few years. It’s losing so much money and will have to merge to survive

Max is joining up with a polish fta network in that market

Is this your prediction or confirmed?

Exactly why Seven would be wary of its own startup streaming service.

Nothing but a couple of shows interest me and I definetly won’t be watching anything that Chris Brown , I find him to be fake and often at times on IAMACGMOH a try hard and his presence would just further anger me :joy::stuck_out_tongue:

That said there will only be two shows I will be watching from that list on catch-up only .
