Seven Motorsport Coverage

Supercars announced this morning that this year’s Repco Bathurst 1000 had been postponed by a month, due to current COVID lockdown in Sydney. It would now be held on November 4-7, meaning Seven’s telecast on Saturday (top 10 shootout) will be up against 10’s coverage of the final day of Melbourne Cup Carnival.

Seven will also show the Supercars rounds at Sydney (November 19-21) and Gold Coast (December 3-5) live. The season-ending Gold Coast 500 will be held on the same weekend as the Australian PGA Championship at nearby Royal Pines Resort.

Has Seven ever shown Supercars at the same time as Australian PGA Championship. One year when 7 had Supercars, they couldn’t acquire Golf because it had something to do with the priority being on the main channel. That being Golf.

Supercars this morning announced that the Bathurst 1000 would now be the final event of the season, to be held on December 5, as part of a historic 6-day motorsport festival starting on November 30.

It will be the latest finish in the history of the iconic race.

This came after Monday’s cancellation of Gold Coast 500 which was originally scheduled to be the season finale.
