Ten HD and SBS HD does have some HD programing, but I think it’s safe to say that neither go to the effort that Nine does to make a decent majority of their content in HD.
Of course, I completely agree that Seven needs to get a HD simulcast of their main channel ASAP but with Seven’s SD-only primetime lineup usually outrating the Nine & Ten available in HD offerings (by quite a healthy margin too), I can’t see them rushing to launch Seven HD anytime soon.
With the future of 4ME in doubt (after joint venture partner Brand New Media falling into administration yesterday), Seven should use the spectrum for the long awaited HD broadcast.
Hear hear! It would be missed opportunity to not go all out with an HD feed. Even if it doesn’t happen, I’d still watch regardless, as well as many other people. It’d just be a bit disappointing.
Is there a reason that the catchup sites are in a poor quality resolution ? Is it to cater for people with bad internet connections or is it to prevent the internet version being better quality than the TV , so that people will watch it on the TV live instead ?
As far as I know, the resolution/quality of the stream is based on how fast your personal internet connection at your house can handle.
The stream picks the best quality it possibly can based on your internet connection.
There is no difference to the programs being broadcast at this stage in Queensland - no new channels, no changes to format of existing, 70 still directs to 7 and is SD.
