The story is correct as it refers to Seven. Prime isn’t part of Seven, they are just a regional affiliate who happen to carry Seven programming.

I know that 7HD is still a Primary simulcast in Perth but 7mate in HD is still available in GWN areas. GWN areas still have it in HD for Anzac eve match
I don’t know what the bitrate is for 7 in Rockhampton but it doesn’t look that great in SD.
The case with the Richmond v Melbourne, and Swans v Giants game shows that at the bare minimum, Seven will guarantee that games will be broadcast in their home markets in HD. Other markets remains to be seen.

And follow SBS’ example. Wouldn’t it be nice! Then we have the best of both worlds (74 also became MPEG-4 just before 4ME closed), everybody wins.

That would be awesome , but knowing seven they won’t adopt that sort of technology.
7FLIX would probably have to be changed to MPEG4 again to be able to fit in a secondary MPEG4 HD version of 7MATE. Considering they changed 7FLIX to MPEG2 once TV4ME went off the air, I doubt they will change it back to MPEG4 any time soon to accomodate.

And in Adelaide… really couldn’t give a toss about AFL, or the need to bump 7HD off the air for 7MATEHD.
Oh well. At least it changes back over within 24 hours. 7MATEHD will live on for years to come in SA on WIN and Southern Cross GTS/BKN

Yeah, this the 7mate HD watermark used in Regional QLD whenever they choose to use it.
7 main channel is back on 7HD now.
