Tim lane called the cricket game at Perth stadium on channel 7 for the first time.
Did Seven show the coin loss live this time around?
They showed the coin toss live on tv
Yes but straight away they cut the toss interviews
I missed the toss, did they do they’re own instead?
Maybe Seven should follow ABC Local Radio and do their own post toss interviews with the captains.
Hard to see Cricket Australia’s Comms team allowing a festival of interviews post the toss. Usually the accepted method is 1x host TV broadcaster and 1x host/lead radio broadcaster. Seven should just take Fox’s interviews, if allowed.
that is what they did but it was evident of cutting half way through Isa Guha asking Paine a question
Greg Blewett in comms for the first time as a Seven Commentator
Small wins Seven could do:
- improve the set. If they can’t use a window like fox, it needs to be a set full of screens. A panoramic loop of the statium’s exterior would be cool.
- improve the graphics. Get rid of the Seven news similarities. Use the italic Seven Cricket font more.
- get an orchestral theme like fox cricket does
- Hand it back to Nine who knew what they were doing.
Seven News delayed by 3min in Sydney and Melbourne, doing the better thing by waiting until the end of the over (or should I say tea).
Even though they still switched play to 7mate.
Should say I heard bits of Damien Fleming with Tim Lane and Rick Ponting this arvo. That was a good trio.
Optus - $50m well spent
At least this contrived “7Cricket Scoreboard” is better than pointless Border US re-runs on 7Plus, includes a sentence advising to view on broadcast only, along with transitioning scoreboards
Those three are normally the session starters - the A team
Seven ended right on 9pm, to the latest episode of BH&G. Mel and the studio signed off rather suddenly.
If normal stumps and no 30min overrun, surely at least an extra 10-15min wrap show would be nice? But clearly not, their precious lifestyle staple is vitally important!
In Perth it will be 6pm, time for Seven News.
Does Seven get the “FOX Rover” camera footage from the little segue on the boundary? Some of the shots that thing gives to FOX Cricket are just amazing.
