This could be the result of rapid testing the Stars squad, hence the move to get everyone PCR tested
The Daily Telegraph’s Annette Sharp has confirmed that Mel McLaughlin is the member of Seven’s commentary team that tested positive to coronavirus. She hopes to be back on Wednesday for the start of the Sydney test.
We knew that as she was the only one not to return
In the same Annette Sharp article, Mel said she tested negative on Boxing Day morning, before developing symptoms and tested positive that night. She revealed she was pretty sick for a couple of days.
Is that a Perth promo?
Was like this in Brisbane. “AEDT” only appears on the last screen of the promo. So, once again,
7 continues to confuse viewers about the time.
No, that was an assumption based on the information available.
I’m not sure whats gained by “outing” people’s covid status in this way other than to pad the paper out a bit more and get a few more clicks online
Looking at dates, Seven will be hoping, if it even eventuates, that the Fifth Test in Hobart progresses beyond 3 days, as to try and upset Nine’s opening days of the Australian Open. However considering what’s happened so far during the Ashes, you’d have to think highly unlikely at this stage, which would again not make Seven management happy, its also a Day/Night (although slightly early starts and finishes with a est time zone compared to cst in Adelaide).
Could be, Alex was part of BBC Radio’s commentary team for the men’s T20 World Cup in the Middle East last November.
Judging by the replies from ABC Grandstand talent, I’d say she’ll be calling for ABC and BBC (which I’d say would be a joint broadcast).
Changes for Seven’s BBL coverage advised by Seven

Mel and Kat at the SCG this morning.
Commentary from Melbourne Hub, with multiple team members awaiting PCR test results, according to Mel.
Alistair Nicholson hosting from the Melbourne studio.
Nicholson, Mitchell, Copeland, Blewett, McLaughlin, Katich, Ponting currently negative.
On an irrelevant note, I’ve loved the music selections by Seven this series.
Stop this Flame - a great FIFA song.
Always nice to have a good soundtrack, does anyone knows the songs used in the Brendon Cowell opener they have used?
Copeland hosting the rain delay. Mitchell doing a Joe Root career reflection piece.
