Round 20

High stakes clashes ahead of September finals action

Coveted top four finals spots and the double chance are in play as the second-placed Cats face the resurgent Swans on Friday Night Football.

The Cats will be keen to atone for their two losses to Sydney last year, while the Swans need to bounce back after their gallant six-point loss to the Hawks last week.

Seven’s coverage will be LIVE from the Geelong rooms as coach Chris Scott joins Bruce McAvaney at the desk for a pre-game chat. BT and Richo will also talk with Swans stars Dan Hannebery and Kieren Jack before the game.

Both teams bring solid form to Saturday Night Footy after the Kangaroos beat finals-bound Melbourne and the Magpies drew with flag favourites Adelaide last weekend. Plenty of eyes will be on Kangaroo forward Ben Brown as he stakes a claim on the Coleman Medal.

The Kick will come LIVE from the North Melbourne rooms and also catches up with pop superstar Zara Larsson mixing it with the Tigers.

We also chat with Malcolm Blight and David Dench as we pay tribute to the 1977 North Melbourne premiership team as they celebrate their 40 year anniversary.

On Sunday Football, the Tigers are looking to turn the tables on the Hawks as they aim to cement a top four spot, while Hawthorn cling to their finals hopes.

Luke Hodge interviews Jarryd Roughead about his 250th game and his great mate and NBA star Joe Ingles drops by.

Forgot eagles and st Kilda unfortunately it’s one of those games which is on 3 hr delay into Perth from 2 pm

So what is happening with Hells Kitchen premiere & Seven News in Adelaide?

The “Showdown” (which will be huge there) at the awkward time of 4:40pm.

@TV.Cynic

yourtv is showing 7:00pm Hell’s Kitchen. No news on any Seven channels in Adelaide.

Its on at 3:30 isnt it?

Oh wait, that’d be 4:40pm my time (on the AFL app).

So must be 4:10pm start in Adelaide.

HK should still be able to start at 7pm then.

It looks like Seven Adelaide will show the Showdown preview at 3.30pm local time, before the actual match at 4pm.

No BT commentating tonight.

Who commentates? I hope it’s JAson Bennett.

Probably Hamish. Bigger question is who will do the “Roaming” segment after the game?

Yeap, Hamish commentating with Bruce.

The Swans won so i doubt they bothered.

What’s that meant to mean?

No point doing the segment if the Swans snub the segment like last time.

The AFL today announced the fixture for this year’s International Rules Series between Australia and Ireland.
First test: Adelaide Oval, Sunday November 12, 3.30pm local time (4pm AEDT)
Second test: Domain Stadium, Saturday November 18, 4.45pm local time (7.45pm AEDT) <- set to be the last major sporting event at the venue before demolition in 2018
The first match was pushed back from November 11 so it won’t clash with Seven’s coverage of Rugby League World Cup clash between Australia and Lebanon at Sydney that night. It will also be played in late afternoon as a lead-in to Seven News in Melbourne.
Both International Rules games will be shown live on Seven.
