Looks like Katy Perry’s Pre Match Entertainment has already expired from 7Plus, even though it technically didn’t finish until now 24 hours ago (the amount of time Seven said it’d be available for), probably went at 1:30pm (which was actually the start).
There’s still a video saying “Pre Game” and description says “Katy Perry and Mike Brady”, but this is incorrect, it’s just the pre game panel with Hamish McLachlan until about 1:30pm before Mike and Katy came on.

Not sure if this has already been discussed but could there potentially be new graphics for the 7AFL brand next season (coinciding with the start of the 2025-31 broadcasting rights deal)?
The current ones have been in effect since the start of the 2021 season. Not a criticism, but a suggestion.

There definitely will be new graphics I think. 7+ streaming being available. Just like the cricket. New broadcast deal & new graphics.
At the very least there could be a slight tweak to the current graphics. I think the current ones are good and don’t need a complete overhaul.

What I meant was do they show ads after every Try? I know they’re a commercial station so ads make money!

They share matches all year except for this one. It’s just 7 greed to show it exclusively (and badly, commentators etc.) with breaks for ads consistently. They’ve spoiled The Big Bash too!
Don’t give the AFL any more hybrid format ideas - some of us still remember AFLX!
Considering it’s the biggest game of the year, of course Seven would want exclusivity over it unless there’s a very good reason for them to give that up.

Only reason they would give it up would be if Fox coughed up a lot more money.

9 show the NRL exclusively too, they do the same with State of Origin. These are the biggest 5 matches of sports in Aus, so of course the FTA wants them exclusively without sharing it with Fox.

It’s not just a matter of not being able to watch an ad-free broadcast. There is also the situation that the game can’t be watched live in 4K with or without ads. It all seems to be a product of the anti-siphoning list.

Technically it can be watched live without ad’s overseas - which raises another point where viewers overseas get commercial free coverage before Australia.

Everyone knows there’s actually no game play during these ads right? You aren’t missing anything.
I’m pretty sure I’ve read they don’t resume play until the ads are finished. They’re told when to resume.

Something like Seven getting exclusivity over their 3 games produced per week, in return for Fox being able to simulcast the GF? That wouldn’t be a bad deal IMO.
That still defeats the purpose of Fox having all games and people watching on Kayo if they can’t watch the 7 games. And the finals too since they are 7 games
