Can say the same with Hutchy if that ends up being true.
I would imagine The Age would want to keep her, also IIRC aren’t some people involved in Seven’s coverage also do stuff at 3AW?
Another question is would she keep appearing on Offsiders on ABC?
Lloydy is wasted at Nine and AFL Media too IMO, should go back to TV commentating, like his Ten days (2009-2011), either Seven or Fox.
Or as Nine like to call him: ‘Llllooorrrdddooooo’.
The good news is he can finally escape the “five time, yes the five time all australian” introduction…
He does radio punditry for 3AW so its not like he doesn’t call games.
Look at it this way.
Hutchy’s company is now producing “Talking W” for the Seven Network.
So, instead of just getting one media announcement that Hutchy’s company is going to do more work for Seven, they give the news out in drips that Cornes is going, now Caro is going… so it looks like Nine is losing talent and you get more days of news headlines.
Enough of the cringe interviews. Get on with the night.
It’s 9pm and we’re only up to Round 8
McLachlan and Maddern copping a pasting online
Maddern’s comment to Collingwood player Jamie Elliott, “Just come home alive” in relation to a planned Las Vegas holiday was incredibly insensitive.
In 2012, former Collingwood and Port Adelaide player John McCarthy passed away during a trip to Las Vegas. Former teammates, potentially including Elliott, attended his funeral.
She appears a little bit loose tonight, maybe had a few back stage to ease the nerves
Also mentioned don’t put it on Instagram… maybe a jab at Brisbane over the 2024 footy trip saga where some Lions players had a little bit too much fun with some locals from Vegas and their families back home found out about it on socials
Matthew Richardson is the only one who works for Seven and 3AW.
Leigh Matthews and Jimmy Bartel used to be on Seven’s coverage but they are now panellists on Footy Furnace.
I’m getting a strong impression from listening to and reading various media today that there will be some Channel 7/SEN alignment from 2025 onwards.
Sounds like there’ll be some sharing of resources. Could we see a televised version on Seven of an SEN product like Crunchtime? And maybe this is why we’ve been hearing whispers of Gerard Whateley joining Seven?
He is so bad. Those questions he just asked, they all had the same answer.
He comes across as weird and creepy.
Terrible presenter please 7 find someone else next year.
Given how he hasn’t been on finals as originally planned (wheeling out Bruce), sounds like there just going to give him stuff to do until his contract ends, especially with them possibly getting some names from Nine.
The interviews from interstate were poor, need actual AFL knowledgeable people rather than local news hosts.
Who did they use (sorry didn’t watch a lot of it)
Amber Laidler in NSW and Alissa Smith in QLD (at least she’s a sport presenter).
