Brian Taylor apologised for another technical issue, no pictures for around 20 seconds, in the final two minutes of the first quarter, luckily there were no additional scores.
At the ground, overheard some technicians while that happened. Was due to a power surge. Unsure what’s happened end of the first quarter.
Any ideas as to the second issue?
They could have run it at 2.30pm on 7mate if they had Essendon v Collingwood live on the main channel. I guess they didn’t want AFL taking up two channels.
They weren’t going to have the games up against each other.
An idea that may realize in 2029 or 2030.
It has to make it through testing first.
The chip-in-the-ball didn’t.
Why would 7 pay Disney for the licensing rights to The Simpsons characters when they don’t even air the show anymore?
A draw. A great game of AFL and finally a worthy game for a prime time slot. All of 7, AFL & Fox will be happy. Crowd of 76k too
7 is doing post game from the Pies room
So is Fox. I wonder how it’s chosen during a draw. Maybe it’s chosen based on who’s leading towards the end? ![]()
Mitch Cleary was caught in a monument where he thought it was an interview that’s being recorded when it was taken LIVE. He had to do a double take and also dropped the F bomb.
I think to will definitely make the Sunday Footy Show Media-Orce & honestly 7 should have it on their shows too. 9 & their shows do highlight their own imperfections while 7 doesn’t really
It’s just an example of what is done in the US.
That’s what Kornes and Hodge said, that with a minute left the Pies were more likely to win.
Scott Hanson (host of NFL Redzone) made a guest appearance last night during halftime report.
Hanson also made an appearance in the post match segment. He was in the Collingwood rooms when he was spotted from behind by Nick Riewoldt.
Some rare figures from Tasmania with the ratings for the ANZAC Day Clash on 7 being beaten by the Devils VFL broadcast.
From the article:
VFL on 7 Tas - 107,000 viewers (this was also on the main Channel 7 as opposed to the usual 7mate)
VFL on 7 Tas + 7plus - 124,000 viewers (I was one of them as we were on holiday in Perth)
AFL ANZAC Day Clash on 7 Tas - 93,500 viewers
They also said it beat the 7NEWS bulletin at 6 that night also.
The crowd physically at the game too at Bellerive was 14,122 which apparently was the largest for any VFL game since 2017.
Not too bad for only 3 games in and it was our first loss.
It was a great move by 7 to get the home games for VFL & I think VFLW too.
I can see them trying to get all Tassie VFL next season even if they just simulcast the afl stream for the away games
Those figures are not sustainable. That’s 1/5 of the population watching the game. You don’t even get such a conversation from adelaide and perth, which are more afl mad than tasmania. Great numbers though, but I would be expecting half as the average for a Tas team. Maybe a bit more for the first few seasons.
Also, nine airing a women’s origin game in Melbourne which rated disastrously, yet 7 has the lions game on 7mate - which would almost triple those figures. It would easily double it. 7 are a disgrace.
Hoping someone in SA can answer this… are Seven Adelaide doing their own pre/post game, commentary, graphics for the local Showdown tonight, or are they taking the FOX Footy feed?
