Looks like it’s gone now. Just caught the screen after the last goal. Maybe an angry phone call from a Channel 9 executive or the IOC/AOC fixed it.

Noticed a slight change with the scorebug. At the end of the quarter it just says AFL in a black square when the time ends.
Last season it was AFL season this where the black square with the time changed to blue with the logo

The intro at the beginning of last nights coverage was way too long and drawn out, and dull.
I did think starting the Better Homes episode with a preview then saying “switch to 7two” was a good idea .
Yesterday match started 8:05pm because of daylight savings. So it ended up being about 60min pre game before the first bounce. Normally it would be 40mins.

The ABC paid its own tribute to the late Dennis Cometti during Saturday AFL program on radio this afternoon. Ben Cameron introduced a three-minute clip, which included audio of Cometti commentating cricket for the public broadcaster in the 1980s.

I don’t see why there would be, given both broadcasters only updated them last year, and we have already seen them in other matches this weekend.
This is the first game of the season where Foxtel is the host broadcaster, and rebroadcast on Seven in a local market. I forgot about the 3 hour delay, I thought it was only 90 minutes for some reason (as the Lions game is into QLD).
Sure, but again, we know what the Fox broadcast looks like, and it is exactly the same as last year, save for the minor adjustment to the size of the scorebug.

something that I don’t really understand from the AFL perspective is why they are delaying the Saturday games during opening round. The whole point of opening round is to grow the game in NSW & QLD.
So they should make it so the Saturday Fox games are still live in the local team market. It would be just 1 Saturday. Shouldn’t be too hard as they should be categorised as a marquee game for the local market and that means it’s doesn’t have to be delayed
It just doesn’t make sense for there to be a round dedicated to growing the game up north but the local teams are delayed by 2-3 hours. Seems counterintuitive.
