No. This has been happening since 2012.
Mention during a interview with West Coast coach,
7 Perth will have there own team broadcasting the Game against the Gold Coast.
Last season they did all home games, Freo & West Coast!
I can’t see them calling all away games too. Seems to be a big effort. But maybe some away sunday twilight games that lead into the news. Probably from WA. which won’t be a difference to Fox who don’t really leave Melbourne anyways
If Away games are on the table now, maybe the goal for 7WA now is for every live game with the Eagles or Dockers to have a Ch7 call.
Might be a big ask once they get live Saturday games back, but it could be done.
Toughest job in TV: Seven’s sport boss Chris Jones on the AFL challenge
“That seven-day-a-week strategy and all the new shows that we launched are all coming back this year. The most satisfying element of that was it created a 25% incremental reach each week. We did about a million people through our ancillary shows.”
Jones was adamant those shows need to justify their existence with ad revenue covering production costs and then some.
“They need to live and breathe by themselves. There’s no better way of talking about the success of a show than doubling the amount of shows that we did last year compared to this year.”
“We look at the workload with all of our people. Every one of our AFL talent is booked in to have a week off because it’s a 30-week season. We definitely want to look after our people.”
According to Caroline Wilson in The Age today, a tribute to Cometti will be shown during half time of the match, in association with the AFL and Sydney Swans.
Wilson also wrote that Centimetre Perfect had been driven over the off-season by Seven’s director of sport Chris Jones, Gary O’Keefe, and Bruce McAvaney. The trio had been aware of Cometti’s declining health in recent years, and were hoping that he would live to witness the documentary being made with the support of his own family.
I was wondering why the documentary was being announced set to air this year.
Hang on, new graphics?!
Confirm from Perth’s Ryan Daniels, 7 will send a team to the GC to broadcast the GC / Eagles
At this stage it is a one off,Ryan said wait see if it continues
What you’ve just watched on TV.
What a fizzer contest to return with
Who is Sunday and why are we eating them?
Not really, a lot of fans of other clubs enjoy watching Carlton get their hopes up before being smashed.
Not my son in law I watch the game with him
He was not a happy Chappy after 1/2 time![]()
