Why does Abbey only get “Host” and not “Premiership Player”?
Weird that they’re using such a bright blue, when Vic is navy.

According to the ‘Sunday Shout’ column in the Herald Sun, a possible reason that Jason Bennett is not returning to Channel 7 is teamwork, where callers are expected to roughly share actual on-air time when calling.

Load of rubbish. They got rid of Jason Bennett because they are nolonger doing VFL and it makes more economic sense to use Jack Heverin now that Triple M and Seven are one company.
Yeah exactly. If they had VFL then they would of kept him
Also I’m pretty sure this is related to the BT aspect of the article or whatever you want to call it.
I think in the Sounding Board Podcast with Hutchy & Dameo it was mentioned that in a 1 match broadcast with BT & Bennett,
BT was concerned with the share of voice to Bennett that he audited it and found out that it was 68% Bennett & 32% him - apparently BT has denied this
but it’s pretty believable and feels like a thing BT would do since he seems to love the sound of his voice during the AFL broadcasts
This was said Feb 12 podcast episode but was apparently mentioned in 2025 too.
The Saturday rub boys did mock BT about him getting his wife to time how long BT and Bennett was talking. Can’t remember when though.
Bruce says there's no such thing as a silly idea in the 2026 AFL commentary meeting.

100% Bennett / 0% BT would have made the audience extremely happy.
This is the audio from the segment on Triple M.

What were they thinking with that promo. I just don’t understand it. I don’t think it’s worked the way they wanted it
Ch 7 have a history of weird promos and segments
Iconic
Fuck me days that is awful.
It’s as bad as their already God awful main AFL promo! Which was discussed several weeks back.
Every time I see it come on I change the channel ![]()
That’s not weird but rather infamously iconic!
