They put whatever content they like onto those stations. No regard for legislation for HPONs.
ACMA doesn’t mind if licensees run commercial stations relayed via a HPON, so they’re not going to worry about SEN’s decisions.

To be fair, the track stations take some track specific content. You don’t get AFL nation games in the valley.
I’m not up to speed on what is considered good/bad for a HPON, but SEN is pretty niche these days since Hutchy took over, so it could almost pass.
According to the program guide it’s the only game SEN Track Latrobe Valley (and Mildura/Sunraysia) took last round. I wonder if this is because AFL Nation on Gold 1242, Triple M and ABC Gippsland both didn’t take it so it gave SEN Track the rights. It was two interstate teams (GWS and Sydney) so possibly wasn’t broadcast on the other stations in Gippsland.
I notice a similar thing happens for SEN SA in Adelaide. Only matches (usually with non-SA teams) that neither FiveAA, Triple M or ABC are taking can be heard on SEN SA.
Does anyone know why Andrew Voss is never in the studio?
Maybe his FOX workload makes it difficult? It’s easier for him during non NRL season? Just a suggestion.
Maybe a compromise. Either he leaves, or works from home.
Brisbane HPON SEN 1053 kHz is running the 2CH commercial drive program, Joel & Fletch.
Wouldn’t that eat into the horse race watching program?
Just drop a few pre-records - “Correct Weight, Race 7”
Funny, of course!
That’s the point, it’s a narrowcast licence, yet they’re using commercial content and hoping ACMA are as light a touch on them as they are on Rich River Broadcasters and their amateurish FM conversion in Deniliquin.
Oh boy! Another winging retired league wanker in the media. I mentioned MG, Girds and Wendell in another thread, he can join that list.
I didn’t think Cameron Smith was interested in getting a position in the media post-football career…
Neither, but it makes sense to go to SEN. He might be Cameron Everywhere, but no-one will notice
He’d be a good crossover with the Melbourne & Sydney markets.
Yeah I tend to agree. A few critics in here but as a Melbourne based sports fan, I think he seems a good get by SEN and I’m sure he’ll be great.
Based on the weekly schedule (link), looks as though the next SEN Track stations to launch are the MF-NASes at Launceston and Devonport, both on 1611 AM.
With SEN Fanatic on Melbourne DAB+ covering Eastern Football League matches, I wonder whether Hutchy will expand his reach into other suburban football leagues - perhaps something similar to the UK’s now-defunct Love Sport Radio?
Pardon my ignorance, but what is SEN Fanatic? Is it AFL-specific? Why isn’t in Sydney? Why isn’t SEN Stadium in any other stadium yet?
SEN Fanatic is almost entirely an 1116 SEN simulcast - except it breaks away for one or two Eastern Football League suburban footy league matches a week. (Edit: one match, one weekly highlights/discussion show). No loss for a Sydney audience there.
No clue about SEN Stadium - though it made its way over to Perth a few months back.
