They have Sydney-specific sponsors mentioned during the call. Probably good for advertising value.
If anybody is listening that is
I had a listen to the cricket on 1170. I wish I had an analogue tuning radio. It feels like itâs off the station slightly. The coverage is ok. I think they should pull the ad that SEN will cover every ball of the BBL. The ad is read by Andrew Voss. It just isnât true. The late game on Sunday l wanted to listen but it wasnât being broadcasted.
I donât understand why they arenât covering every game. They have missed a few games so far. Neither have had a clash with any other coverage.
Anyone know what Simon Hillâs role is? No doubt A-League coverage but thatâs it? Itâs just the tweet from the station the other day made it sound like it could be more than that.
Speaking of A-League, tonightâs game between Brisbane Roar and Melbourne City will be heard on SEN Track in Melbourne but not in Brisbane.
Do they have their Football Nation coverage listed anywhere?
The Football Nation website has not been updated with the latest broadcast schedule.
Bit of a shame the sixes vs the heat game is not on SEN. They should let the ABC do domestic cricket again.
What happens with the BBC call? Is that Big Bash Nation? Or do they do their own? If they do, then the ABC should take it in Tasmania and other non-SEN/Syndicated areas.
I just used a VPN. I just tuned into the match last night on delay. Its not Big Bash nation.
I can listen using a VPN a match in Australia in future lol. I think it is stupid I need to use a VPN to listen to a big bash game but hey it is 2021 and some may say on this forum it is SEN after all. It would be great if SEN brought the English Summer to Australia (even when Australia was not playing).
The latter
Ads and all?
No ads as it is BBC personnel in the studio it seems. I just tuned into tonightâs coverage as we donât have cricket on 1170 in Sydney after 9pm.
Is Football Nation (A-League coverage) even on this season? It hasnât been advertised anywhere and I havenât heard it?
If Simon Hill is meant to be part of itâŚheâs not. For an unknown reason, he is the Jets ground announcer. How the hell did we get him?
Think Hill was only signed up to do the A-League Finals last year
Well now we know. Heâs a ground announcer. Filling in time until SEN, Optus or Stan pick him up?
Stan? What soccer/football rights have they got? I thought they were only rugby and tennis so far.
None, if Fox Sports are dropping A League at the end of this season, Stan is an option. And Simon Hill would be a great get. Him and Lucy Zelic as your killer combo up front.
Simon will be signed by whoever has next years rights. That is already a given. He is currently freelancing, including appearing on Optus Sport, as a ground announcer, on SydneyFC TV and, for last years finals, on SEN Football Nation.
