SEN (Radio)

Technically it’s not SEN’s call, it was AFL Nation.

It’s because Crocmedia now offer their calls through the SEN app, giving them a way around having to take the stream offline when there is an AFL game on SEN. Yes, slight delay.

Craig is delusional, he knows full well that streaming is not a patch on broadcast mediums. Want to be heard in Brisbane, lease DAB+ spectrum and do business right.

Really though? More people stream than have dab surely

Just had a quick look at today’s ‘what’s on’ post on the SEN website and found this little note:

SEN 2 launches today!
Sports lovers now have another network to listen to! Stay tuned to the SEN website to see what’s coming up on the station.

From Radioinfo:

To celebrate Australia’s favourite super horse Winx’s anticipated final race on Saturday, 1377 SEN+ will be rebranded 1377 Winx+ for a special whole-day takeover at The Championships Day 2 - Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Sydney’s Royal Randwick Racecourse.

Interesting article:

Good reminder that only 5AA and 5SE take Sportsday. All the Camerons’ stations (rest of regional SA) were taking the show.

They also had signage at last week’s Gold Coast-Fremantle game, also promoting the Melbourne station, even though the game was a QLD team versus a WA team.

That’s for the TV, ground advertising is often for the TV audience.

SEN+ having nearly two full days of alternative programs this Saturday and Sunday. They should do this more often.

What’s that!?! SEN Management have finally realised there is more to this world than 1116AM??

What’s the difference between SEN+ and SEN2?

SEN = 1116AM
SEN+ = 1377AM
SEN2 and SEN3 are streaming channels, not available through the traditional method of radio.

Though SEN2 and SEN3 are on digital radio?

Aren’t they occuypying the spots of Aussie and Kool? Must admit I deleted those and SEN+ from the car radio and replaced them with music.

I don’t get why 1377SEN+, SEN2 and SEN3 can’t be music stations rather than BS.

Then just interrupt music for sports calls where necessary.

That’s what MSR should do too.

Yes. Sorry I meant they’re streaming and digital services. As opposed to SEN and SEN+.
By traditional method of radio I obviously meant through a wireless.

Because Crocmedia are a sports programming company - running music stations wouldn’t be aligned with what they do

Except when that music is in Greek…

Finally found the answer to this.

From this page on their website:

SEN3 is our brand new DAB+ and digital channel, making SEN even easier to listen to! NSW listeners can stream right here, with a version of SEN that’s fully compliant with NSW advertising law.

Looks like they want a stream that isn’t going to breach NSW’s tougher laws around gambling advertising
