I know their night 1 draft coverage was pretty ordinary (basically Kane Cornes and Matt Rendell interviewing top 10 picks), but I wonder how many were upset when, at least online, they cut into the coverage about 40 minutes from the end of night 1 (about 5-6 picks) for a preview of Serbia vs Cameroon at the World Cup?
Does this mean sheâll be leaving SEN? It says âfull timeâ.
Sheâs only been doing call time on Friday afternoons and Iâm not sure itâs been on post nrl season.
SEN SA has been out of action on 1629 due to techinical difficulties for weeks. Even before the big storm we had so not sure what the issue is.
Still no announcement on who will be doing Breakfast. Haysey finished up last week to move to NOVA.
Gary and Tim back today it seems
Hadnât Tim wrapped up for the year?
Yeah they both had I thought but I think they came back for one episode to do the âCaller of the Yearâ.
Kudos to SEN World Cup commentary team. Itâs been excellent throughout the tournament and provides a good local alternative to the BBC coverage on SBS radio.
1170SEN continuing to get some good PR following their interviews with the latest Cricket Australia saga (with audio bytes played on the national news).
We lease one at a very good rate. When itâs not available we have a number of backup plans in place, (along with a shitload of engineering redundancy) so in the very rare occurance that Iâd need to get there at midnight, Iâd be able to achieve that within 2 hours if needed.
What poor innocent stations are being given up to accommodate for all this rubbish?
Based on this post from April, nothing.
If you believe the 7th Day Adventists are indeed poor.
Being owned by the Seventh Day Adventists suggest they mightâve been planning to downlink the local version of the 3ABN satellite channel. They own a number of 88FM-ish LPONs, a much smaller number than Vision, probably a few dozen.
Agree it is rubbish. Listening to 3 blokes watching a greyhound race!
The only time SENTrack really has value is when they do broadcast other sporting events live like cricket. Unfortunately this doesnât happen all that much with the ridiculous narrowcast rules they have to follow.
Iâd prefer it to yet another âgod squadâ station though, I do wonder how often those stations are broadcasting without even a single listener.
Which is ironic as itâs called, SENTrack not SENCricket.
Theyâre not even popular for their core offering.
SENTrack was never actually the original plan, when SEN announced their expansion drive a few years ago their aim was to broadcast the main SEN content on narrowcast licences.
ACMA however rejected their application to have a general sports station classified as ânarrowcastâ, hence SENTrack being set up seemingly as a plan B given the long standing precedent that a racing again does qualify as narrowcast.
SENTrackâs main content doesnât interest me in the slightest, however in this situation theyâve had to go down that path to appease ACMA and listeners lose out (as a general SEN station, while still fairly niche, would definitely fill a gap and provide a bit more diversity in regional radio.
