Oaxaca is known as of one of Mexico’s top culinary destinations, and Pati is going on an in-depth tour, tasting everything from chocolates to cheeses, to moles and mezcal, and exploring the very best of what Oaxaca has to offer.
In mezcal country, she’ll visit a fifth generation, family-run mezcal producer and learn everything there is to know about making mezcal. She’ll travel off the beaten path to the tiny town where one of Oaxaca’s most celebrated chefs is still cooking recipes that have been handed down by her native ancestors for thousands of years. She’ll also meet Oaxaca’s expert mole chef, travel to the magical Mixteca region, and seek out the most prized recipes and ingredients in all of Oaxaca in both its top restaurants and markets.
Back in Pati’s home kitchen, those adventures become the inspiration for simple, family-friendly recipes to delight her friends and, of course, her three growing boys who always show up in the kitchen hungry.
