The overnight tennis numbers speak for themselves – 68% share, 61.8% main channel, 2.58 million for the Women’s Final, 2.838 for the presentations then late at night 1.725 million for the Men’s doubles.

The only other recent +60% shares have been for Seven’s AFL GF coverage for the last 2 years that both recorded 65.8%.

Unprecedented low shares for especially Seven but also not unexpectedly for 10.

Massive figures for the Australian Open women’s singles final - first time it broke the two million barrier. It sets a high benchmark that other shows and events may struggle to break, including State of Origin and the AFL Grand Final.

The women’s final even outrated Seven News in Perth which is rare.

Without any cricket on Ch7, Nine recorded its biggest win for the night thanks to Ash Barty. Fantastic numbers for Nine.

Amazing numbers for Nine and the Australian Open Final. Over 2.5 million for the match is awesome, and it jumped to over 2.8m for the Presentation. Go Ash Barty.

The Doubles Final did very well too. As did the “Post Match” in 4th place. That finished at 12.10am. (Note: In prelim ratings, New Amsterdam made an appearance -16th place - as it was supposed to start at midnight)

Is the Aus Open: Pre-Match at 18th place the airing at 4pm (Syd and Melb)?

Wow. Last night peaked at over 1million viewers in Melbourne. Absolutely huge win for Barty!!!

I don’t think I can ever remember seeing a network with over 68% share. That is insane.

Wow, huge numbers. Despite Barty getting 2.5m, I think the standout number is the Mens Doubles Final which started after 10PM and still got over 1.7m!

Nine reports that the Men’s Doubles finals match was the highest rating Men’s Doubles in OzTAM history and Ash Barty’s victory was the highest rating AO Women’s final in OzTAM history.

I doubt it will be beaten. The only thing that might come close is the AFL Grand Final if gets the ‘right’ (for TV ratings purposes) matchup.

Not really - likely only very few viewers would watch the junior finals if they were televised (especially because it obviously features unknown players). Those who did still had avenues to do so anyway via 9Now and Stan Sport.

Wow. So many records broken. Interested to see the streaming and regional audiences too which are also likely to be big.

I would expect big numbers too for the Men’s final goes tonight. I don’t think it will beat this or break any viewing records but will probably be bigger than the last couple of years. Last night serves a strong lead in and Nadal is a popular player playing for a history making 21 Grand Slams.

Agree. It made more sense for them to hype up the nights matches.

I reckon those ratings in Perth would be ~100k higher if not for their aversion to anything on Nine
