Sam Pang Tonight

I notice an old petrol pump with the Paramount logo in the office when Sam met Holly Dalton there. Is that her workplace?

That’s what Sam said. Confronted her in her workplace.

I thought last nights show was pretty good. Best of the lot so far.

That would be because she now works for Paramount as a TV Account Manager, was previously with Southern Cross Austereo.

I believe she likely moved over with 10’s purchase of the regional licences.

Good to see the renewal. I think the main problem is the name of the show and how it was sold to us/marketed.

As ‘Sam and friends’ it is a great show and has massive potential banking on his Existing friendships with tens stable of comedians. As Sam pang Tonight I just think it was oversold and Australia was expecting something that mimics American talk Shows/rove. It’s quite clear that they never actually intended on delivering that.

Maybe I missed it but I don’t feel it was ever really sold as such it’s just people set expectations that haven’t been realised. I don’t know what I expected, not much but it hasn’t been that bad. I feel like it’s part of the joke that the guests are funnier than him at times because that’s often how he does his comedy and plays things down. Just like the Cheap Seats and HYBPA (and much like the Front Bar on Seven) this is a cheap show with cheap laughs and it doesn’t need to be anything big, just something that people can switch on and get a few laughs.

It needs to come from a larger studio. It just needs a bigger atmosphere.

Come on 10, cough up some money and rent out one of the NEP studios in South Melbourne.

Yep, I’d definitely agree with that. It does need a bit more atmosphere but I don’t want to see all the big name guests and things like that - I love the simple things with Sam and friends just for casual comedy type stuff. Although he did change the Christmas Tree gag so it wasn’t so predictable!

I didn’t even notice that until I just rewatched it. lol.

Becky Lucas, John Safran and Matt Moran.

Becky is very funny. Sam is less nervous but still being outdone by the announcer.

Really? I thought most of her interruptions in the monologue were very unfunny.

I’m finding it really painful tonight. They don’t work well together and the comedy is just not sharply written. Unfortunately I really wanted to this show to work but I don’t think it’s hit the mark and there’s too many flaws.

I have to agree. I think Becky’s comedy is very hit and miss at the best of times but trying to adlib was really excruciating.

Sometimes, less is more. Her constant adlib is a bit too much.

Matt Moran can talk a lot too. lol.

Becky Lucas lost the public fanbase when she did those god awful McCains Chips ads :eyes:

Spoon or Fork was a great end segment. Best Wheel of Segments so far by a long way.

No @SamPangTonight action figure would be complete without his very own Christmas tree 🎄😏
