Sam Pang’s Vatican comment during the opening monologue referring to a mushroom killer article and if she was seen near the Vatican. Not to sound like a Karen (not to offend anyone called Karen best wording I can think of) but is that maybe too soon?

No, Karen. It was harmless.

Patti Newton was this week’s guest in the pushing a celebrity onto a Christmas tree segment. However, it was a stuntman wearing a wig, rather than Patti herself, who was shoved onto the tree.

The franchise is growing

Quite a funny show tonight. I think Sam is a lot more comfortable with what he’s doing now and they’re tightening up the show so not as many awkward pauses. The audience was really into the show tonight and laughing a lot more.

Imagine if he said JD Vance did it.

Isn’t the show prerecorded?

I think it is filmed at 8pm. Initial talks was an afternoon recording, but not sure why the change happend.

I believe it’s earlier in the evening. Ticket website says evening start time. What would be the point of 8pm when it screens at 8.30/8.40?

8pm from many posts above. When Survivor was still airing. I dont know if it still filming at 8pm. I don’t get it either :man_shrugging:

Time to edit out segments/bits that aren’t working/someone dropping the “C” word.

However, I have no knowledge of the inner workings of this show.

My point is I don’t think you can edit out a segment of the show is recorded st 8pm and screens at 8.40pm. Bleeping language is easy.

But if you record at 6/6.30pm, that does give you some time for any other edits.

I was in the audience for the Anne Edmonds/Tim Minchin episode a few weeks back. I can’t speak for the other episodes but it seemed watching the show back later that nothing was edited out at all. I guess the only reason it’s not live is a safety measure in case anything controversial is said.

I must say though having been in the audience for quite a few different shows over the years, it was weird to leave the taping, get home, turn the TV on and be watching a segment we were just in the audience for only 30 minutes ago.

Overall it actually was a quite enjoyable and fun experience and very quick compared to others shows I’ve been to which can run for a few hours for just a single episode shoot.

I was just trying to say given the nature and recency of the news given the pope had a wide religious following maybe making a joke the same day he had died might’ve been a bit too early maybe?

That was all

Yeah. I’ve heard that it’s the same with Have You Been Paying Attention most weeks. But nowe and again there are shows where they have to edit certain things out when they’ve gone too far

I didn’t think it was that funny , or any funnier than any other episode .In fact, I thought it would be better with Tony than it was. I mentioned last week that Sam seemed more comfortable, so I agree there. Clearly the audience has been told to be more vocal, but I don’t think it has addressed the atmosphere.
