Real test will be next week, especially if they listen to feedback and tweak some things.

I’m glad that it did well.
Like others I thought it was alright and the show has a lot of potential if they iron a few small things out. The things they need to improve are the studio lacking a bit of a vibe (it needs a bit more life and fun injected into it like US talk shows) and there are definitely things they can do to make it smoother and flow better.
I just watched it and I really enjoyed it. I was definitely sceptical. Did it have issues, god yes. The announcer in the middle of the studio felt very out of place. But it flowed well and was just the light entertainment I felt I needed for a Monday night (or Tuesday afternoon in my case).
Would’ve thought they’d have secured this to put on P+ for the extra on it.
At what point is 8:30pm ‘late night’ television
It’s late by today’s standards, but I’ve seen that reporting a lot too about it being late-night which it’s not. It’s just a tonight style show.
Ads are back to the standard 10 advertisement format by those caps.
The prono style is pretty standard - show some highlights from last episode plus announce the guests for the next, though we were told that wasn’t going to be the case.
I thought they weren’t announcing guests until transmission?
The show is now on Paramount+
Didn’t they announce it during the show?
Isn’t that a promo for next weeks show though?
Sorry I misunderstood. I thought they weren’t announcing guests until the episode they were going to appear on was airing. Like a surprise.
Edit: actually, no, I didn’t misunderstand. It says it clear as day right here: Sam Pang Tonight: March 17 | TV Tonight
Why change their mind after one episode?
Perhaps Kitty and Felix aren’t the ‘interview’ guests?
Wouldn’t be the first time a show / network has said one thing and done another.
How do you promote this sort of show without announcing the guest line-up, depends who you’ve got confirmed I guess?
Might’ve been a backflip and they’re just trying things on the run as the show evolves.
In theory, 10 weren’t supposed to release Jack Thompson’s name before the first show as well; but that didn’t eventuate. I think the claim is more about not being able to confirm a line-up at the time the week’s schedule is finalised.
I heard Sam being interviewed on radio last week and at first he said, watch the show and you’ll see who the guests are but when he was pushed on it he said Jack Thompson this week and Kitty Flanagan and Felix Cameron are coming up.
Maybe he was planning on keeping them secret but because everyone kept focusing on who the guests might be, he caved in.
