Sam Pang Tonight

So was the theory that they wanted to make people tune in to the show to find out who’s on, and then they hope since people have already started watching that they keep watching?

Odd approach if that’s what they were going for originally, and glad they realised it’s better to promote the guests as that’s more likely to get people watching (if they’re big name guests people are interested in).

I thought the monologue tonight was worse than last week. I dunno it just feels forced.

Kitty doing the announcing as expected, dressed as a “Russian general”.

New segment “where are they now?”. Literally.

The banter between Sam and Kitty is great.

Sam acknowledged all the bad feedback from last week’s show. And Kitty wants a chair.

They desperately need a live band. It just feels so flat.

Kitty should remain as permanent announcer?

Kitty was given a stool before Felix Cameron came into the set.

I thought last week was lol funny! Sam seems more nervous this week … awkward at times?!

They isn’t the space, they need a bigger studio that’s what is holding it back, the audience needs to hold at least 280 for a show like this, Not the 100 or so that can fit in there.

There also needs space for his monologue, bands to play and the show to breathe. These shows have never been filmed like this before, the smallest studio I can recall is Craig Ferguson’s and even his was about 3xlarger.

I think Como doesn’t even get to 100. They’re lucky to have 50 in there.

The Felix Cameron segment was good.

I think the guest needs to stay on. Sam works better with more people around to bounce off.

Kitty Flanagan is excellent. She’d thrive with her own show to host

I would say this week’s episode has been worse than last week’s was, Sam is more nervous and is stumbling his words, Kitty is carrying tonight and Felix was a good guest. Not as many laughs from the cutaway clips

Yeah the segments with Sam presenting on his own felt flat, he needs people to banter with. The show was good with Felix and Kitty.

The show was better this week, mainly thanks to the guests.

The “News from the Past” segment tonight (towards the end of the show) wasn’t that good though, compared to last weeks one.

A permanent sidekick who sits next him would be good. Conan and Andy/Johnny and Ed etc

Yes, Sam does seem to get nervous at times and stumbles a lot.

Perhaps the show would work better if the announcer/comedian joins Sam at the desk after the first commercial break for the first interview.

Then they stay in a chair beside him for the rest of the show, even with any other guest being interviewed. Felix was a great guest but having Kitty interject made that an even better segment.
