Good on him for being himself.

Could he play for the men’s team should he choose/be selected etc?

Wow. Argentina!

What’s going on with the All Blacks these days… they seem to be losing a fair bit this year.

Wallabies might even fancy their chances of winning back the Bledisloe this year.

Bledisloe isn’t until next month but things aren’t looking good for the once-mighty All Blacks

The Australian men’s team has claimed the World Series Sevens title for the very first time, after finishing third in the final tournament in Los Angeles at the weekend.

Very good year for Rugby Union in AUstralia with women taking out gold in the RUgby 7s at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games and the Men’s claiming the World Series 7s title in LA.

And it would be an excellent year if the Wallabies can regain the Bledisloe against the All Blacks next month, a title they haven’t held for 20 years.

The Wallabies’ recent poor form in Sydney continued, losing to South Africa 8-24 in the Rugby Championship match at the new Allianz Stadium tonight. The Wallabies were not helped by losing Hunter Paisami and Noah Lolesio to concussion, whilst Taniela Tupou didn’t get a chance to feature after tweaking his calf at warm up.

Aussies should host the RWC 7s. We are already hosting the Men’s and Women’s edition later this decade

Interesting that World Rugby has not announced the host nation of the next Rugby World Cup Sevens.

That ending to the Bledisloe match. :no_mouth: I got nothing. Wow.

That ref is a bloody disgrace. He must never ref another international match ever again. I hope the Wallabies appeal this result

I’ve just read the recap by News Corp reporter Jamie Pandaram who was at the game. The Wallabies were trailing 31-13 in the second half, and did very well to fight back and eventually take the lead for the first time. But they were let down by shocking refereeing. The ending will be talked about for years to come.

The result means New Zealand has won Bledisloe Cup for the 20th year in a row.

I would have simply stopped time wasting after being asked repeatedly and kicked the ball to touch.

He thought time was off (as is customary), and probably couldn’t hear the Frenchy over the crowd with his voice not being overly strong.

EDIT: Just listened to it, and (not being racist) his accent between “time is on” and “time is off” is hard to tell the difference (with a microphone), let alone with a packed crowd and teammates screaming at him.

Is “Ten” meant to refer to the time remaining until you have to have kicked it? (Like AFL umpires will tell the player “15 gone”)

I’m surprised the Wallabies seemingly haven’t tried to push for the Bledisloe series to be over 3 Tests (how it used to be many years ago), whereby AUS and NZ would then host 2 games on alternate years. This would give AUS a much better chance of winning back the Cup.

As it stands now, AUS have to beat NZ over there (as well as here) to win the Cup. And winning in Auckland seems nigh on impossible, with the Wallabies not having won there since 1986.

2 losses is better than 3?

They were unlucky not to win last night, they have a better chance of winning the series in a year where 2 of 3 Tests are in AUS.

It was 3 last year (and 4 in 2020).

I agree - it was a bold call and maybe right to the letter of the law, perhaps not in spirit of the game. I don’t think it’s as harsh as many are making out. He was clearly milking time - perhaps pushed the boundaries too far.
