Rugby League

having overseen 588 games, 21 finals series, five grand finals wins (two stripped) and six minor premierships while at the club.

The grand final wins were never stripped (because you can’t undo a win) - the premierships were.

Ironically, the minor premierships were stripped, but this doesn’t get a mention. If you’re going to bring up the salary cap breaches, get your facts right.

It would be simpler just to list the 3 legitimate premiership wins.

The Dragons suck :frowning:

Lost 56-6 to the Dolphins.

Hard to believe they led 2-0 early on!

Makes me wonder how did they beat the Melbourne Storm in round four… and just recently the Broncos at Suncorp.

I dont get it either. It has been one crazy of a competition.

Goes to show a week is a long time in footy. The team that beat my boys last week get carved up tonight.

Dragons getting thumped like that is friggin funny.

Yeah. I don’t think it’s crazy in a good way. There are maybe 4 good teams this year - the rest can all run up a score against each other week on week without it making much sense. I enjoy watching the NRL but I think the quality this year has been overall, quite poor.

And more teams are being added…

Too much expansion too quickly and in the wrong places, too.

But i think it’s preferable to seeing the same teams win every week and the comp basically being a foregone conclusion or a two horse race

Yes, some teams have been poor at times eg Knights 1st half against Manly was one of the worst I’ve seen for a while.

But there have been some great games too. And I do feel like you can watch more games this year thinking this could go either way.

I’m happy to support the expansion teams, just kick Souths out of the comp.

The most frustrating thing about the Dragons is that they are consistently bad to mediocre, but not bad enough to win the wooden spoon. I wish they would just rack a few 'spoons up and then that might be the catalyst for change.

Raiders are going well at this stage, though I don’t think they’re quite premiership material.

As a Dragons fan, watching them in recent years is frustrating. At times, they are bad. Bad enough for the Spoon? No, but close to it a year or two ago. But they don’t like change much.

As for expansion, there is one or two that are in the wrong places. As for the timing, at the moment, am okay with it.

It showed up in last night’s FTA ratings - for a 50 point win, the lowest rating of the season.

Oooofh…don’t say that. You’ll end up giving Paul Fenech ideas for a new Housos zombie movie.

You’re partially right. Wrong places, not quite. PNG and WA are fertile places, but the player pool could become a little dilute. You could piss off more Sydney fans and merge a few more teams - reinstate a Wollongong team and merge St George and Cronulla. Merge Parra and the Panthers, and for the cream on the top, merge Roosters and Souths. Force the Tigers to Campbelltown permanently.

Oh and Dragons fans, welcome to the Knight-mare of incompetent management and coaching. Yes we’ve made finals, but we’ve scraped in there.

Feels like the Knights have run their course while we are at it

Yet to see a case for PNG that makes any sense other that geo-political reasons. It certainly doesn’t commercially or safety wise. Even talent wise, PNG are hardly a league force that they were 30 or so years ago.
