NSW claimed the opening match of this year’s State of Origin with a 18-6 win over Queensland in Brisbane tonight, in front of a sellout crowd of 52,483.

News Corp reports it was the first time NSW have won back-to-back games at Suncorp Stadium in 27 years; the last double coming in 1997-1998.

I’ll be at Game 3 in Sydney and hoping that the Blues will be 2-0 up and going for the clean sweep. Also wish the girls luck in going for their clean sweep tomorrow night

NSW were denied a clean sweep in this year’s Women’s State of Origin series, losing game three 14-18 in Newcastle tonight.

NSW’s Olivia Kernick was named this year’s Nellie Doherty Medallist (player of the series).

Fuck Adam O’Brien.

NBN should run a Telethon to raise the $2 million dollar contract buyout to send him on his way. You know we’d raise the money quick smart.

Sell Kalyn Ponga to the Roosters or Rugby and you’ll get that money no trouble…

Tbh at the rate the season’s being going, I expected Knights to win and my tips to flop… again!

Selling anyone to the Roosters ruins a person. Dom Young has proven that. Plus Wests would just pocket the cash.

He’s more likely to go to union. Just don’t get him playing for the Tahs or Wallabies.

Well he has already said if he were to defect to Union he’d want to play for the All Blacks

Such a weird comp!

Last weekend, every result was an upset… this week, no upsets.

Great win by the Raiders over the Roosters tonight, coming back from 12-4 down at half time to win 26-24.

This would be his first NRL coaching role since he coached the Canberra Raiders between 1997-01.

Though he will forever be best remembered as the man who led Queensland to 9/10 Origin series victories between 2006-15, 2014 being the outlier (which in retrospect prevented them from achieving a twelve-peat, half a century on from the Dragons’ run of 11 straight premierships).

Craig Bellamy will remain Melbourne Storm coach for 2026.

Different code I know, but could Craig Bellamy make it to a 28th season as Storm coach?

That would surpass the 27 continuous years that Kevin Sheedy served as Essendon coach between 1981-2007.
